Project Miatabusa has been dragging on for a long time. So long, that our comment section is filling up with impatient demands to hear this baby run and see some donuts. Well ok, then...
So it runs.
Now hit page 2 to see some donuts!

YOU GUYS ARE SO MEAN! (*0*) Cool to see it actually run though. How did you get from the last article to this current state? I presume something more in-depth is coming.

So, whose Hayabusa did you have parked in front of the car, right outside of the shot? I kid, I kid :-P

This reminds me of those girls in high school who wore short skirts and low cut tops and flirted shamelessly-but wouldnt let you even kiss them. We even had a name for them-***** tease.

Of all the projects on MotoIQ this seems to be the one with a valid product for sale. If the project was a success I am sure people would line up for the tranny adapter, sub-frame and perhaps even an exhaust system. Riches and fame would be yours to behold!

So, why did the DRLs that were shining towards Miatabusa dim when the engine you hear was started? ;-p

Rockwood, The lights you're seeing are actually the Miata's own parking light bulbs dangling loose in the engine compartment. This was shot before I reassembled the front bumper. Don't think for a second I'd go to the effort of making a fake video. I'm too lazy for that!

Awesome donuts. Enough to make a good cop go bad. Good stuff though on getting it up and running. :)

This is just like that episode of South Park where they didn't tell you who Cartman's dad was as promised in the episode prior. . .

This is really cool. Having owned and raced a 2002 Miata I'm curious why not go with a turbo 4 setup, or furthermore an LS swap? I'm really tired right now and I'll read the articles later so forgive me if an explanation was provided in one of the segments on this car. To me the one thing the Miata always lacked was torque and its the same thing sport bike engines lack. Obviously you can adjust with gearing, but this engine surely has a ton of top end, but in all the kinds of racing you would do with a Miata I think an LS would for sure be more practical, provide more torque, cheaper to mod and certainly faster around any track. ???
