Exactly Bruce :) hard to feel sorry for Hollywood but they are smart they can figure out other ways to make money without censoring the internet. If more decent movies were made I'd buy them.

Seeing as almost all of the content on here is generated by you guys, this is one of the few sites I don't fear losing should this blasphemous bill pass.

I hear lots of talk about how this is bad to have SOPA and PIPA pass. I agree that they are stupid, but what is the answer? How do we stop idiots from stealing?
We have been educated. That's what the blackout was about. But now we need answers to how to fix this issue.

@jeffball - I can proudly say I've never used a torrent to download a movie or song illegally. That's not to say I'm squeaky clean but I don't accept copied DVD's anymore and the Napster days are long gone. If I want a movie or song I pay for it. Bloated rich or not I have nothing against someone making money for their hard work. If I like something I'll pay for it. If I see my kids doing it in the future I'll threaten them by using their college funds to pay for any fines for stealing and cut off their internet.

On the other hand the whole format switch that is happening more frequently all the time is simply madness. I have purchased my last version of Star Wars on DVD years ago. No extra scenes version, no Blueray edition, no 3D version when those come out. Voting with my dollars is about the most powerful thing I can do.

I don't think anyone should be worried about Hollywood, the MPAA, GoDaddy or any of the other companies supporting SOPA. They will figure out ways to keep making money or they will go bankrupt like any other business. Avatar still made over a billion with all the illegal copies going around. Bands have to tour if they want to make money.

@ Dusty - Good point about the photos; it's one reason we watermark our pictures with our logo. I can't count how many times we've found folks who have stolen Kojima's work over the years and republished it as their own on the internet.
