JC Meynet Sets AWD Limited Class Record and Personal Best at Global Time Attack!

MotoIQ Staff Report

Our buddy JC Meynet sent us this cool in car video of him setting the AWD Limited class World Time Attack lap record this last weekend in the OMG Racing AQ Motorsports Subaru STI. JC ran a blistering 1:23.141 around Willow Springs on his way towards breaking the record.  You can read more about the details of JC's car here.

Since our article was written, it has undergone an extensive rebuild and upgrade process in the off season at AQ Motorsports which seems to have added quite a bit of speed.  What impresses me is the smoothness and seeming effortlessnes of the run.  All hallmarks of a well set up car.  It is hard to get used to the sound of a flat four engine though.

JC has been wanting us to do more features on his car including a run with data.  We had actualy recorded data for his car previously but our camera mounts and GPS anntena failed and ruined our efforts.  We will be taking another look at JC's car in the future.

Unfortunatly the car's engine blew when JC tried to better his time later.  Knowing the guys at AQ, they are already making plans for something bigger and better.  We hope we can get a look at the new engine's insides.

Nice and smooth run, congrats! Was JC happy yelling at the end there?

BTW it might be good to actually put the lap time up in the text there MotoIQ.

@ Tony: Everything's bumpy at well over 100mph for a large part of that course. But yeah, turn 8 is kind of a "put your foot in it and hand on" kind of corner.

Smoking lap time.

"Was JC happy yelling at the end there?"

No, that was the icy/hot Novak put in my shorts taking effect. We all need some kinda inspiration to go fast ya know.... ;-)

Every track is inherently smooth at "normal" speeds. The goal is to go fast enough that it becomes bumpy :-)

Well setup car means you don't follow the normal lines. Nice piece of driving for sure and the car, phenomenal.

Well set up means not following the normal line? That's a new one on me.
