JC Meynet had already broken the Limited GT AWD on his first outing but was hungry for more in the OMG Racing Subaru STI.  In an attempt to reset his own record set the day before he hurt the motor on the hot lap in what may have been an even deeper record time.  Regardless JC Meynet sits high on the throne in the Limited GT AWD class and it's gonna take one bad mother to knock him off.

Chris Rado stares with either amusment or disgust.  Amazingly the Need for Speed/World Racing Scion tC FWD car was able to beat their own record with a hurt head gasket and they were not running under full power.

LIC Motorsports brought their Subaru STI out of retirement for the GTA event with a new pilot at the helm, long time time attack veteran Dr. Russell Warr.  The LIC guys had a great weekend and were running double duty in the GTA Limited GT AWD class and the NASA TTR class.  They finished the day with a 1st place and 2nd place finish.  Congrats and we hope to see more of LIC this year.

Anthony Szirka and UMS Tuning were busy all weekend running their Mitsubishi EVO in the Unlimited GT AWD class and acting as GTA Tech officials for the event.  The UMS Tuning EVO finished 2nd place in their class.

Casey Dennis in the GMR Motorsports Honda S2000 has been slowly climbing the ladder and grabbed his first win in time attack in the Unlimited GT RWD class.

Didn't we say it would take a bad mo'fo to knock JC Meynet off his throne?  He's also got a torque wrench in his hand ready to beat you if you try.  OMG Racing is the undisputed king in the Limited GT AWD class.

Where was SSE? No invite for the fastest team in Time Attack?

It is my understanding SSE had a conflicting Ferrari Challenge event.

Great write up Laura and even greater job on taking home the victory with track record...! Congrats to all of those that made it on the podium... Did I mention I need front aero now, Turn1 said they needed...

There was a Ferrari Challenge event up at Laguna Seca this past weekend also. When you're paid to watch over two race cars in that series, you go.

Matt, great seeing you out at the track!

Great write up as always Laura!

Have to correct something though, whilst The pirate had is hands in all things being rigged the credit for the over-engineered gatorade 1 lap bottle falls squarely on Jeff R!

Yes, SSE was at a Ferrari Challenge event. Otherwise the EVO is in a mid-development stage at the moment anyhow and would not be able to make it even if there was no FC race.

Great write up Laura. When you say that individual time attack track records were broken, did you forget about Billy Johnson in the FX motorsports NSX back in 2009? From Redline Time Attack @ WSIR from May 31, 2009:

1. FX Motorsports/Cricket NSX, 1:18.555, Billy Johnson, Yokohama slicks

2. Sierra Sierra EVO 8, 1:20.454, Jonathan Bomarito, Hankook C91

3. C-West S2000, 1:20.838, Tyler Mcquarrie, Hankook C91

Sure, Billy's time was on slicks, but still is a unlimited class time attack track record. I'm sure GST would have gone quicker with more boost. Mike never cranks it up until he has to.

haha that picture of me is hilarious.

Rado was smoking there because they lost a turbo Saturday morning. JC's STi broke a whole slew of parts in the shortblock that I believe all started with a cracked cylinder wall letting water into the chamber.

here are the top time attack cars at WSIR after last weekend if anyone wants to know:

Laura: Total props for the Bergenholtz reference! You'll notice that Rado has the front spoiler oriented in an F1 or Indy configuration on his new car. MUCH nicer!

Someone needs to tell Casey that exhaust off his turbo is killing the aero on his S2k.

I would have thought SSE would step up to the plate and battle it out with GST and World Racing, but they are showing up to Redline next weekend where they will EASILY dominate with no competition. I love time attack, but just going for the track record with nobody else to battle against, is pretty boooooring to me. Am i wrong to assume SSE has different teams for Ferrari and time attack? If so, why didnt SSE show up at GTA? Questions questions questions!!!

SSE has one crew that oversees the maintaince/setup/race support/etc of the Ferrari's as contracted by two car owners, and also oversees the TA car. And as Eric mentioned, the TA car was not ready yet regardless.

Thanks guys, it was a great weekend of racing.

GSTMike - added corrections for the true mastermind behind the baffled dual Gatorade bottle racing bits.

Eric Hsu - I didn't forget about the old records set back in 2009. The Unlimited AWD & FWD records were broken at this event.

GST took the UNL AWD record only, Billy still has the UNL OVERALL + UNL RWD.

FYI

AQ Motorsport/OMG Racing with JC driving were the only guys to not only break their division record (Mod/Ltd awd) but were the only team to break their overall class record. The previous Street and Unl overall records did not change. The Carlos shirt was the special edge needed.....

Snail Performance would've won the Cadillac Eldorado if they had the Glenngary leads. :)
