The 2010 WTAC was a really exciting event. It was probably one of the best time attacks I have ever been to. I had the fortune of traveling to Sydney with the Sierra Sierra EVO which finished in 2nd place just behind the CyberEVO. Naturally I am hoping that the SSE EVO will be making it back to the 2011 WTAC for some redemption. Redemption is spelled C-H-R-I-S-T-I-N-E in my dictionary. Anyhow, confirmed so far for 2011 is the CyberEVO CT9A once again, the Scorch Racing S15, the Advan/Hi-Octane BNR34 GT-R, and the Hankook WRX.

I believe the controversial Garage Revolution FD3S RX-7 and the Cosworth powered AVO Turboworld Japan GD Impreza STi will also be making the trip from Japan, but I don't see them as confirmed entries on the WTAC website. I have heard that Mark Berry has a big and bad BorgWarner EFR turbo on order for the Advan/Hi Octane Racing BNR34 GT-R and the car is going to be put on a diet as well. The Hankook Australia WRX is being developed as I write this and promises to be ultralight and is supposed to be making 700whp. I have not heard anything yet about the Tomei/Cusco Impreza.

But what about the USA you ask? I have heard mention of Sierra Sierra possibly bringing Christine (the Cosworth powered EVO) and GST bringing their Impreza L to represent the USA. The previous sentence is just a rumor at this point in time, but it would just add to the ultimate bad assness of the WTAC event.

If you're thinking of  visitng Sydney for a vacation or whatever, plan it around August 5-6 of this year. Eastern Creek Raceway is only 30 minutes from Sydney. Sydney is one of the cities you must visit before your dirt nap. It's fun, the people are nice, it's clean, there's plenty to do and Aussies drink like madmen which will always make for a fun trip. You can easily sneak in at least one day at the WTAC to watch a once in a lifetime combination of crazy fast cars from all over the world without too much slack from the GF or wife.

Or Chris Rado and his crazy Scions. How come we don't hear much about him these days?

It is expensive to go to Australia. There are no officially imported NSXs in Australia either so I'm guessing there are not very many spare parts. Even then, it is just expensive. I mean REALLY expensive. As it is both Sierra and FXMD are only going to run several events this year from what I hear.

I think Rado is associating himself with another Time Attack league or something like that. Global Time Attack is it? Rado's car does not meet CAMS rules (the Australian SCCA) either.

Dirt nap? HAHA, thats a classic motocross term for getting yourself knocked out (and you will sooner or later) while racing MX. I've taken about 5 in my time... (no comments please)

I like "crawling under the grass" for dying ;-)

Anyway, good luck down under, I hope as many USA teams go as possible!

WTAC 2011 is definately shaping up to be even more epic than last year.
I will be there and sure hope to see you there again Eric and the SSE Team.

I am also very much hoping to see FXMD and GST get over there somehow.

First round is on me!

I'm seriously thinking about going..... The only question is if I can get work to swing for it.

JC: "dirt nap" gets used a lot in the Cosworth sales office for some reason. But it makes literal sense in MX haha.

Marty: I can't wait for that first round at Darling Harbour. See you there!

Khiem: You need to do market research right? The EFR hype is spreading... Work needs to pay for your trip.

@8695Beaters:
Like Mike said, probably Chris Rado's tC is not running optimally yet. Last time I heard they had issues with their custom Weismass tranny. If the car only had less hp....

The Scorth Racing S15 is a car to keep an eye on. Privately owned by Anda Suzuki, this car has been getting closer and closer to the 54 sec. at Tsukuba.
Supposely the car has about 700hp and weighs about 1000kg (about 2200lbs.). The cage is very minimal, as you would expect from Japanese.....lol
I know there are other cars that can run the same pace, but this relatively-small budget S15 put other racecars to shame.

On the bright side note. I would love to see Fontana Nissan, GST, Cobb GT-R.
Anyway, can't wait to hear who is going for sure, and who isn't.

With you guys in the Moto business now, I expected to see a new lingo and a trend towards some flat-brimmed hats with ears tucked in around Cosie.... ;-)

BTW, congrats on recent Supercross successes!

Its expensive and difficult logistically to move a car from the US to Australia and back.

Most time attack guys have a hard enough time getting the car from coast to coast, let alone country to country.

Honestly though, if I were going to do it, I would want to go to Japan, to run on Tsukuba.
