Leave it to Sean to find the strange ass oddities in the Skyline GT-R world. Sean put this up one of his blogs and this has got to be the absolute oddest swap I have ever seen in my life. Awesome? s. Odd? Definitely. I cannot see one single advantage to this swap from the power, handling, or visual appeal aspects, but it seems somebody has plenty of spare time and money so I guess why the hell not? BTW, this was the R34 in Fast and the Furious 4 I think.

This car was the only one not seized by the government when the Kaizo offices were raided. They took two R34 GT-R's and a R34 GTT, but this one stayed.

I thought it would be funny to bring it out to a GT-R event.

Reminds me of the days when you'd see almost anything on top of dune buggy motor and suspension. Maybe even a Porsche flat six or a Subie FI boxer motor, but a VW? Yeech.

I guess it might be one way to keep your R34 safe from seizure 'cause you sure can't claim it's a complete car...sad.

Thinking most recent FF4 car was a GTS with GT-R pimped bodywork, RWD only to make the stunt driving easier.

The most recent FF4 car, the Bayside Blue hero car was a Kaizo GT-R. I setup Kaizo with the movie car guys. The movie guys bought 6 or 7 GTS to dress up like GTR's to use in the driving scenes. This is one of them. Converted to VW power.

Even if you hate it, have to admit its pretty unique. This car was at Kaizo the day they were raided. It was not seized.

I tried convincing a buggy driver that he really needed a subaru motor compared to his VW motor. Then i was instructed that the VW is air cooled and is the way to go. I guess an air cooled porsche motor would work, but maybe the extra weight and location of weight doesn't displace the horsepower gain.

Eric: Because it was in the movie, is it due to making it drift easier for stunts?

Poor R34.
Anyway, now you guys should stuff the RB26 into the Bettle !...then I would give you the thumbs up !

If the guy was smart, then he can clean up the low buck hack job and put something meaningful back there like a Renegade Hybrid V8 setup or a FC 13B turbo with an adaptor.

Hmm that's a very unique swap. Just seeing how the car looks and sounded was a painful sight to see.

I bought the blue ray version of ff4. In the bonus features they said they actually used the GTT in the movie.

Are you sure he didn't just take another chassis and chop it up and add on R34 panels?

This car has been gutted to the point of no recognition of the original model in my opinion.

I could see someone doing that just for shits and giggles as it was not an original R34. But I cannot see someone taking a R34 and chopping it up like that for an underpowered older technology engine.
