JDM Oil Pan


Some of you probably got all excited and said, "Oh shit! JDM oil pan!" As with many JDM yo parts, there's nothing to be excited about today. I like a lot of JDM parts myself, but they aren't always what the hype makes them out to be. In fact, if the Japanese didn't make their hardcore crazy parts, sick body kits, dope wheels, etc. we would be styling our cars with JC Whitney rubber flap side skirts (as seen on raked vans with spoilers circa 1981) and be rolling on American Racing and Centerline wheels today.

Sprint Car


Have you ever checked out a Sprint car up close? Over at M-Workz, there's a team that rents some space so I walked over and checked out the car. The driving position is just like you're driving a bus. The steering wheel is nearly horizontal. There might as well be a knob on the wheel like a bus. An alcohol burning V-8 with a driveshaft right in between your legs and right up against your nuts is pretty serious business. The car probably weighs around 1000 pounds. Don't forget that the Sprint car guys INVENTED drifting. Don't think for a second that your hero, the Drift King invented shit.

The people at Google cut me off from Adsense (there used to be ads in the right side bar). They have accused me of click fraud which is absolute bullshit. There has been no reply to my emails since last Friday. They don't even balls to send me a generic denial of reinstatement email. Subaru EJ257B - New STi Engine


Look what rolled into Cosworth yesterday:  the new Impreza STi EJ257B engine.  The new engine in the Ford Focus, sorry, I meant the new Subaru Impreza STi remains mostly unchanged.  Although we have not torn it apart yet, externally there are not very many changes aside from some obvious changes and additions.  The additions seem to be some smog valves, solenoids, pumps, etc.  The changes are here:

I have been crazy busy recently and haven't had a chance to post. Actually I am still crazy busy and still don't have time to post, but fuck it. You have to take a break from the rat race once in a while. So a couple weeks ago, somebody sent me a link to this video. It's really funny if you live in Southern California because you can relate. I'm sure its the same all over the world though. If you've ever been to Glendale and you go to a car wash, you'll know what I'm saying. Pay attention to the words because the shit is hilarious. Kevin & Bean are the masterminds behind this. They host a morning show at the local rock station in the mornings in LA. Just in case you didn't know, the original song is "Bow Down" from the Westside Connection and Ice Cube.

Russian Mob


Here in America after you watch James Bond movies or Vin Diesel in XXX, you think of Russia being run by the mob, mafia, gangsters, or some other form of organized crime after the fall of the Soviet Union. I didn't realize it at the time, but when Kirill from Maxi Tuning magazine in Russia asked me to comment on a 3000GT/GTO that they were featuring in the magazine, I gave him my honest opinions of the car. What I realized afterwards was that perhaps the owner of the car was in the Russian mob or something like that. To be honest though, I found myself visiting my own blog to check out the pics once in a while. Damn, some of them are fine. Race Queens


It's time for a break from all the serious car talk and check out some females. In Asia, every race team has campaign girls and these girls have been called "Race Queens". Personally, I think that most of them should NOT be called queens because they are definitely NOT fit for a king, but some of them are pretty smoking hot. We will examine some of the latter examples here today. To me, a true race queen has to have a pleasant/pretty face and a bangin' body. I don't dig the super cute or pretty ones with no body. Should You Change Your SR20DET Head Gasket?


SR20DET swaps in S13/14 240SX's are quite popular here in America. One of the questions I frequently get is, "Do you think I should change my head gasket before I swap the SR in?" I always recommend changing it because it's fairly easy when the engine is sitting on a stand or even on the floor (don't crush the steel pan people!). The paper gasket is fine for 205hp and probably even ok for 280hp, but in reality it's detonation that usually destroys the stock paper head gasket. Since there are so many cheap asses that use the OEM ECUs on 91 octane in the SR20 swap world, it's even more reason to change the head gasket.
