During my visit to the Indy 500 last year, I got the chance the day before the race to visit the museum and hall of fame. If you appreciate race cars of all ages and varieties, then the museum at Indy should definitely on your bucket list. All kinds of race cars were on display. What interested me the most was seeing how the old school (turn of the century) builders used to build 'em. Lots of pics after the jump.

Now that the dust has settled from WTAC 2011 itself and the thrashing to prepare in the weeks prior to the event, I'm going to attempt to do an overview of the 10 fastest cars @ WTAC 2011. It seems there was plenty of coverage of the event and the cars on sites, blogs, picture hosting sites, etc. but nowhere could I find a summary of the 10 fastest cars in one place. Looking to build or bring a car to the WTAC 2012 Pro class? Look no further because this is your guide to your competition.

But there were some controversies and I attempt to clear them up here.

I attended my second Global Time Attack (TA) event at the New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) last weekend. It was one of the best motorsports events I have attended in a long time. My first TA event was several years ago at Summit Point in West Virginia. The competition was held on Summit Point’s Shenandoah Circuit that includes a replica of one of the most famous corners in the world, Nürburgring-Nordschleife's famous banked Karussell turn complete with 20 degrees of banking. Prior to this corner there is a hill where the fastest cars get all four tires off the ground; it is quite a sight to behold.
