Dennis from Sierra Sierra writes a letter explaining some of the trials and tribulations of a new car. The secondary pupose of the letter is to explain why the car will not be attending all Redline Time Attack events this season (2009).

AVO Widebody STI @ HyperMeet 2009 - Tsukuba
I'm not sure what happened to the camera mount, but pretty cool in car video. Ross Wilson from AVO Turboworld was behind the wheel. Ross used to drive all kinds of race cars back in Australia, but he dusted off his years of absence behind the wheel and took to the track. The AVO GDB has an all sheet metal widebody so it is ultra nice. The Cosworth long block keeps the 600bhp engine reliable of course. The lap time looks to be about 1:00. At the Hypermeet you must use full tread street tires excluding the cheater A-048s, R888, etc. ...

Redline Time Attack! Buttonwillow 3/29/09
It was a nice day today at Buttonwillow with the exception of some wind and dust here and there. I think I got a hardcore farmer's tan too. There were the most people (participants and spectators) I've seen at Buttonwillow to date so I believe the Time Attack sport is definitely growing. The standard time attack track configuration was used: clockwise #13. The American built unlimited class cars are definitely getting quicker with the Factor X NSX and Billy Johnson busting out a 1:45.5. They broke a turbo so were not able to run the last session. Second fastest for the day was the C-West S2000 and Tyler McQuarrie with a 1:46.7 (Khiem I didn't see the other S2k that was supposed to rock t...
Showing Stock Cars...
What's the point? I totally understand wanting to meet up with your on-line buddies to shoot the shit and hang out, but leave that to the local mid-week Blockbuster/Starbucks meets. Meets are a big part of Southern California's car culture even long before the advent of the forum. Before the forum, there were classic car meets, muscle car meets, hot rod meets, rat rod meets, etc. The point is that all of the meets existed because people wanted to show their cars which were cool, original, and neat looking cars to check out both to peers and normal non-enthusiasts.I have been to the Mitsubishi Owner's Day a couple times only to witness 20% modified EVOs and 80% stock EVOs. I can u...
XS BNR32 GT-R Left Front Wheel in the Air
Sean the living GT-R database, posted a pic of the XS BNR32 lifting the front left wheel after I shifted into 2nd gear.
Import Auto Salon 2009
In America, SEMA used to throw a half ass attempt at a show called the Import Auto Salon. I went to the first two or three years in Long Beach, but after that it was pretty much a joke so I never went afterwards. IAS was basically an Import Showoff with east coast vendors. This year at the Tokyo Auto Salon they also had an Import Auto Salon. However, "import" in Japan generally means European....
Fun at IDRC
A virus attack kept me from posting this past week. Mark was cool enough to fix the prob pretty quick although we seemed to have lost the original blog header for now.
Anyhow last weekend at the IDRC drag event at Fontana, I got a chance to drag race the XS Engineering time attack GT-R. I showed up Saturday and the starters wouldn't let me run because the car didn't have passenger and driver's side windows. Road racing = windows down and drag racing = windows up. I had to go back to XS, pick up the regulators and glass and install them at back at the track. The thing I don't get is that they will allow a 7.3 sec...
IDRC Saturday 11/22 & 11/23
The guys at D-Sport magazine are bringing back the IDRC for two days at Fontana. The event will be this Saturday 11/22 and Sunday 11/23. There will be a GTR Challenge where you can run your BNR32/BCNR33/BNR34/R35 against other GT-Rs. I will be bringing out the XS Engineering time attack car for shits and giggles. I hope I don't break an axle. Wen and Mike from D-Sport will be bringing out their BCNR33 cars that make 871whp and 1033whp r...
