Design Craft STi
How buff does this look? Lanny and Gary at Design Craft fabricated the bumper and splitter. Gary is talking about making them out of dry carbon in the near future. They're thrashing away at this car and the C-West S2000 in preparation for this weekend's Redline Time Attack this at Buttonwillow. I guess this means I'll be on the chassis dyno at XS some late nights again this week......

Cool video narrated by Sebastian Vettel breaking down the changes in the ugly ass aero, tires, and KERS for 2009. No doubt Red Bull paid the bill on this one.

Wanna Buy a Prodrive WRC Car (or parts)?
In the midst of Prodrive's termination of the SWRT (Subaru World Rally Team) and Subaru's withdrawal from WRC Rally, it appears that Subaru WRC cars and parts are now making their way into the public market. They always were available, but at ridiculous prices. In fact, now you can even phone up Prodrive and buy yourself certain parts from the 2008 WRC car such as the rear wing (somebody I know did that). Our favorite Frenchman, Jeremy at Cosworth UK, sent us an email forwarding the link to a Japanese MSN page that has detailed information on Prodrive WRC car sales. The MSN page wit...

Sean the living GT-R database, posted a pic of the XS BNR32 lifting the front left wheel after I shifted into 2nd gear.
Fun at IDRC
A virus attack kept me from posting this past week. Mark was cool enough to fix the prob pretty quick although we seemed to have lost the original blog header for now.
Anyhow last weekend at the IDRC drag event at Fontana, I got a chance to drag race the XS Engineering time attack GT-R. I showed up Saturday and the starters wouldn't let me run because the car didn't have passenger and driver's side windows. Road racing = windows down and drag racing = windows up. I had to go back to XS, pick up the regulators and glass and install them at back at the track. The thing I don't get is that they will allow a 7.3 sec...

SEMA 2008 Summary
I'm glad that SEMA is over this year. While it is overall a pain in the ass, it's a necessary evil to develop new business and show off your new products. This year's SEMA was definitely slower with less foot traffic and booths had less "models". Was it due to the economy? Probably since travel and women are two very expensive things in general. At the Cosworth booth, there were still quality inquiries and plenty of international visitors. Anyhow, it was great to meet some new people and overall I had a good time. Catching up with friends in the industry you're too busy to talk to during work hours was cool too. It was cool to have surprisingly quite a few people hit me up with, "Hey ...

The AMS EVO 8 drag car is FAST. I believe its the world's fastest drag EVO so congratulations to the AMS crew are in order. AMS EVO Goes 8.42 @168.7 MPH - NEW WORLD RECORD! However, it's not the fastest 4G63 powered drag car. John Shepherd currently holds that title at 7.70@191mph in his Eagle Talon. John Shepherd is the Mitsu tranny master BTW and builds the transmission in the AMS EVO 8. Both of these cars are FAF (fast as fuck).
