While no doubt some of you have heard of the 24 Hours of Daytona, I'm guessing far fewer have heard of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. Which is too bad, because the cars are pretty damn cool and the racing is ultra competitive. Even in our world of attention spans that are stretched by five-lap RallyCross events, plenty of excitement can be found in sports car racing – which, at their shortest, are two hours and forty-five minutes.

Auto Talent M3 - A Cheetah In Zebra's Clothing
By Khiem Dinh
The BMW M3 has been the performance enthusiast’s choice within the BMW lineup for generations. The E36 generation is still an extremely popular track day vehicle due to its performance and value. The current generation E92 coupe could be considered the German equivalent of a muscle car packing a 414hp, 4.0L, V8 that eclipses the magical 100hp/L mark for a normally aspirated engine.

ST Suspensions' BMW E36 M3 Street Suspension Reviewed
By Mike Kojima
When Formula D and road racing pro Mike Essa needed a street suspension for his daily driver BMW E36 M3 he was not looking for the latest and greatest track shredding stuff, just something where he could comfortably run a lower ride height with firm control that could replace the old 140,000 mile worn out stuff on his car.

MFEST is a journey all BMW ///M owners should take at least once in their life. People travel from all over the country to participate in this spectacular event that goes down every year in Sin City. MFEST is not only an event to showcase your M, it is a trifecta of events that encompasses several acts of car related hedonism. The weekend starts in SoCal with a single file caravan all the way to Las Vegas for some Friday night drag racing. Saturday is the car show and track day held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The track day also gives shops and manufacturers the opportunity to compete in a Time Attack style MFest Tuner Shootout. MFEST concludes with the ultimate lifestyle party at TAO Beach at the Venetian Hotel. This was our first trip behind the MFEST curtain and organizer Chris Naguit has proven once again that he is the man with the masterplan!

In the 2010 Formula D season, GSR Autosport/Nitto Tires driver Mike Essa grabbed plenty of Media attention with his shrieking V10 M5 powered E92 BMW. The BMW was probably the best sounding car in Formula D and looked pretty killer as well. The car's baller profile, killer looks and glorious sounds made Mike a darling of the media. Now Mike is building a potent Z4 for the 2011 season.

In a Time Attack car, the brake system is just as critical for a winning car as the engine. The same is true for a street car but under differing parameters. A successful race car has to slow down rapidly and repeatedly from high speeds. A street car has to do the same but for 100,000 miles with little maintenance.

Rebuilding the brakes is not as challenging as it may seem. There are only a few more steps beyond simply changing out brake pads and rotors. This is an information only step-by-step guide, undertake it at your own risk. If you do not feel comfortable with the below steps, I would suggest getting help. If you are remotely mechanically inclined and do oil changes and maintenance yourself, it really is not that bad at all.

When Berk Technology set out to build a time attack car, their intent was not to build some sort of exotic open class killer; it was more to build a rolling test bed for their exhaust products and something that their high performance street customers could relate to. Thus it was decided that their efforts would evolve around building a car to compete in Redline Time Attack's Rear Wheel Drive Street Class. Street Class is something that Berk's customer base could identify with and would be a more powerful marketing statement.
