Another video by our buddy Skylar Smith. This one was cool because we were there and it shows all of the stuff we didn't get to see. We were camped out by the starting line so that we could do a tech feature on Nobuhiro Tajima's Monster Suzuki hill climb special. More inside...

MotoIQ Staff Report
This video was shot and edited by our buddy Skylar Smith of Falken tires. We spend a lot of time with Skylar on the road, especially this year and he is one hell of a funny guy who helps make being on the road for long periods of time more bearable or even fun.

For my first-ever MotoIQ article, I’m going to delve deep Down Under and take you to the World Time Attack Challenge. The World Time Attack Challenge? You mean the time-attack event that popped off in Sydney, Australia? Didn’t that happen, like, in May? That would be a yes, yes, and another yes. Alright look, I’m used to the print cycle where two months is the standard operating procedure. Besides, you cheap Internet bastards don’t even pay for content, so go ahead, try and get a refund.

By Laura Heng, photos by David Karey & Martin Gonzales Back in the Cold War between the United States and Russia each party built a vast array of military nuclear weapons, large armies of troops, and superior technology in a race for global superiority. Even though no war actually took place a great deal of time, money, and effort went into building the ultimate military machine. Right now the Redline Time Attack series is no different except larger turbos, stickier tires, and exotic titanium parts take the place of bigger warheads.

It's no wonder why Nobuhiro Tajima's Nickname is "Monster". We don't think it's because of his history as one of the most winning drivers in Hill Climb history, we don't think it's because of his wild driving style. We don't think it's because of his shredding in WRC rally and rallycross either. We think it's because Mr. Tajima is simply the biggest Japanese guy in Japan or certainly the biggest guy we know.

On June 12th and 13th the Redline Time Attack series blew in to the Windy City for Round 5. Some heavy hitters from around the country converged at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet Illinois to battle it out for the fastest lap. The Autobahn C.C. is one of the premier track facilities in the midwest and the Redline battle was settled on their 2.1 mile 15 turn south course and there is little doubt that the action that took place this past weekend will serve as a benchmark for events to come.

To be honest, I usually am not too keenly interested in Drifting, being a road racer with my roots in drag racing but since Formula D's third round is located in Wall New Jersey a relatively short drive from my house, I decided that it might be a fun thing to cover this event for MotoIQ. I also decided to investigate the judging process and explain some of that as well to demystify how these events are scored to the uninformed.

24 Hours of Nürburgring: The Experience
By Mike Kojima, photos by Jeff Naeyaert & Mike Kojima
It's hard to imagine the magnitude of the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. I have never been to any sort of public event that had this many people. It is estimated that as many as 250,000 people attend the race and by the sheer volumes of the crowd I saw I don't doubt it. The race isn't just a race either, it's a giant party and a huge celebration of life. My guess is that half of the fans that flock to the event are there to take in the party/festival like atmosphere.
