The annual Rev Speed Magazine Super Battle Time Attack took place on December 9, 2011 at the home of Time Attack, Tsukuba Circuit. Garage Revolution brought out their FD RX-7 to dominate the competition, but the weather prevented any records from being set. Regardless, the variety of cars at the event was a treat for any JDM enthusiast. A ton of pics are after the jump.

Battle Evome Final - Highlights
By Elena Nikolova
Two sleepless weekends in a row for me, and probably a whole sleepless week for the time attack enthusiasts who took part in Battle Evome at Tsukuba circuit this month. Last two rounds were just a week apart so there was little prep-time before the final round on Sunday. The fight against time is definitely not for lazybones. I set off for the circuit at 3:30 AM on Saturday a week ago with part of the Evome Battle staff and it was worth it for sure. Seeing everything from the very start and leaving with the last cars is a one of a kind experience.

The 24 Hours of Daytona usually kicks off the racing season but for Mazda the racing season officially begins at the Mazdaspeed Motorsports Media Day where the company lays out its motorsports strategy for the coming year. It was also a great history lesson in Mazda’s rich motorsports history that continues today. Mazda is not only involved in a ton of different pro level motorsports such as ALMS and GrandAm but Mazda also heavily supports and subsidizes grassroots racing efforts for the rest of us. A little known fact is that Mazda shells out several million dollars per season in driver scholarship money and prize money through their various racing programs. With all of this support that Mazda gives back to racers it's no wonder why Mazda is the most road raced brand in America.

Battle Evome @ Tsukuba Circuit - Part 2
by Elena Nikolova
The Evome Battle on Tsukuba circuit surely offered lots of interesting cars. The race started at 9 in the morning, until 11, so there were short 30-minute sessions. There were two classes of cars. Class 1 are all heavily modified cars made for one purpose only – battle against time. And honestly, the amount of work that was put into each one is more than impressive.

Battle Evome @ Tsukuba Circuit: Part 1
By Elena Nikolova
Last freezing Sunday I went to check out the second round of an amateur time attack race called Evome Battle, held on Tsukuba circuit. The series was originally a Lancer Evolution event, but has grown a lot since then. The variety of cars participating now is much wider. I may be losing feeling in my fingers while I'm clicking around the cars, but performance-wise the weather conditions in the Kanto area (where Tsukuba circuit is) are perfect for a track day – sunny and dry, with temperatures around the freezing point.
