If there is one good thing about starting at Auto Club Speedway in March it's this: it ain't so freakin' hot! Well, it wasn't hot anywhere except Autoclub Speedway where the MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Car Championship presented by Motul was kicking off the 2013 Season. Would we see a repeat performance by Edik Stepanyan or would 2012 Champion Michele Abbate pull ahead this time? Could one of our new competitors make a charge?  Find all this out and more as you continue to read on about the first round of the MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Car Championship presented by Motul!

Stillway S2000

Stillway S2000: FR Taught Here

By Tatsu Tsuchida

Seto describes meeting Ryusho Konishi (Ryu for short) this way; a punk-ass street racer rolls into Stillway for the first time roughly 7~8 years ago. Seto didn't know this at the time but Konishi had built his reputation up as a pretty famous local touge racer. Both each had an EVO at the time: Seto, a 350 HP one, and Konishi one that as per his own request Seto built to do 500 HP. Shortly there-after they headed to Central Circuit. For Seto this was one of his many shakedown runs, but for Ryu he was out to prove something. Konishi had Seto in his cross-hairs, but lap after lap Seto, underpowered though he might have been, kept beating Konishi consistently by 2~3 seconds per lap.

I sit down with her and discuss her entry into Top Fuel and how she got to where she is now.

Bad Idea or Brilliant? Inside the Rimicci Corse Fiat Abarth World Challenge Touring Car

Anthony Rimicci had an idea. After years of racing Alfa Romeos in vintage races across the west coast, the re-introduction of the Italian Fiat brand – and the fun-to-drive Fiat Abarth – to the North American market prompted him to build one for the SCCA’s World Challenge series,  to compete in the Touring Car class against the likes of Honda Civic Si’s, Mazdaspeed 3’s, and VW GTI’s. Could the Abarth, a small car even compared to that competition, be made into a World Challenge winner?

Project Scion FR-S: Suspension Part 1 - Getting the Basics with KW Suspension, Cusco and Race Comp Engineering

By Mike Kojima

With the FR-S engine giving us fits we decided to turn our attention to something different on the car, the suspension.  We were surprised with the FR-S, the ride in stock form was pretty darned stiff for a stock car, the car felt oversprung for the amount of low speed damping from the stock shocks but the ride felt harsh.  The car was also really tail happy, fun to drive but not the fast way around turns, especially on corner exit.  Perhaps the worst fault the car had was an odd shimmy on the freeway.  The car felt like it was following the rain grooves much like a motorcycle does.  It was a very unsettling feeling.

Finding Honda - A Rare Look at the Automaker's Private Collection

By Aaron Bonk

A dozen or so parking spaces with the word Honda hand painted in small block lettering along their curbs are all that reveals that this building has anything to do with the once Japanese motorcycle manufacturer turned carmaker. There is no Honda sign perched along the building's facade. There is no Power of Dreams-emblazoned welcome mat out front. There isn't a single thing about where Honda houses what it calls its Private Collection that would lead passersby to believe that behind the stark-white, nondescript, Torrance, Calif. structure lies the most thorough collection of Honda and Acura automobiles outside of the company's homeland.
