VIDEO: Rhys Millen @ Pikes Peak 2010
By Mike Kojima
Here is a really cool video of Rhys Millen in the PM580 attempting to break the 10 minute barrier at Pikes Peak a few weeks ago. This is another video by our buddies at Mad Media, the folks that did all of Ken Block's stuff. This video has real tight editing and cool helicopter shots of the revolutionary PM580 at speed on the mountain.

To give our Ducati Hypermotard more power, we had AMS Performance once again help us out with the mechanical aspects by installing a set of Ducati Performance cams. Since the Engine uses Ducati's famous Desmodromic valve control system where one cam lobe opens the valves and another closes them, cam design is very difficult, beyond what the aftermarket can typically come up with. Due to the complexity of the valvetrain we made the easy decision to stick with factory engineered parts.

Billy's time of a 1:43.145 was also good for a Super Lap Battle track record for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway outdoor road course. If you wanna read the full press release, see inside. Otherwise, take a minute (or nine) to watch Episode 1 of FX Motorsports' 2010 season--I guess they're gonna be doing several of these! Shot at the Redline Time Attack back in April when Matt Andrews was driving the NSX, John Naderi hosts a walkthrough of the recent changes to the car and talks with several members of the team. ...but they had me at the Asian strippers! :) MOAR!
