Fairmont Butte Motorsports Park

Proposed New Road Course in Southern California Needs Your Help!  By Jeff Naeyaert

Some of you SoCal road racers out there might have heard about the proposed Fairmont Butte Motorsports Park that Thomas Malloy wants to build on his land about 20 miles northwest of Lancaster.  "This 3.6 mile Alan Wilson-designed race track will include a 30,000 square foot clubhouse, 45,000 square feet of garage facilities and overnight accommodations and other amenities, helping to make it a world-class racing facility."  Unfortunately, he's getting some opposition from a few environmentalist weenies who are worried about noise at the nearby Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve.   READ MORE

Mode Racing Time Attack Hyundai Genesis

In the Beginning...  By Jeff Naeyaert

With a rear wheel drive, dual pivot front independent suspension system, multi-link rear suspension, limited slip differential, Brembo brakes and best of all a version of Mitsubishi's powerful 4B11 2 liter turbo motor or a 306 hp V6, the Genesis has all the makings of a serious performance coupe.  We at MotoIQ are excited to bring you one of the first purposely modified Hyundais that we know of in existence.

VIDEO: "The Wall" Formula D New Jersey 2009 from Will Roegge

Check out this sick video shot of the Formula D event in New Jersey last month by Will Roegge.  Turned on to Will's work by our buddies over at Motormavens.com, we were so impressed we wanted to share it too!  Will captures the violent and fast action of elite level pro drifting and somehow makes it look surreal and beautiful. Only graduating from film school a few years ago, Roegge directs, shoots, edits, and colors all his own work and has produced content for Yahoo!, Pfizer, Wrecked Magazine, Streetfire.net, Rice Boy TV and a host of other clients.  We're looking forward to featuring more of Will's work as he cranks it out so stay tuned!  Check out more from Will on his website:  willroegge.com

MotoIQ Project Mitsubishi EVO IX

Project EVO IX Part One: Really Simple Bolt Ons

By Jeff Naeyaert

The venerable Mistsubishi EVO is a known commodity in the tuning world.  It seems that wherever you look you see EVO’s and it also seems, at least in our Southern California locale that a stock EVO is about as common as a Ferrari Enzo.  The EVO IX was the final evolutionary development of the superb, destined to become a classic CT9A chassis which includes the EVO VII, VIII and IX.  The features that define an IX are the changes made to the legendary 4G63 engine to make it even better than its predecessors.

Honda Ruckus, 999S, Desmo, which one?

Project Honda Ruckus Part One

By Jeff Naeyaert

In typical MotoIQ fashion we decided that our Ruck was going to need some help in the suspension, handling and brakes department before we increased the power to help keep things safe.  We had almost rear ended cars due to weak brakes and ended up doing a flying W by hitting a water dip at 35 mph on the street.  Although this sounds somewhat comical, it was not safe and had to be addressed

motoIQ Nissan 370Z Feature; The KillerBee(NEW VIDEO!)

 by Jeff Naeyaert

The beginning of a project often begins with a disaster. The owner of this Nissan 370Z was previously into Mitsubishi EVO’s having a nice example of an EVO IX. The EVO was totaled in an unfortunate rear ender leaving our owner with a chance to pursue a new dream with a brand new car.
