Looks so relaxed compared to the videos of the Cyber and Sierra Sierra Evos. I know it's fast but the camera isn't shaking like it's having a seizure, the shifts are few and far between (and not overly aggressive appearing), and last but not least the mellow exhaust note compared to the banshee wails of the evos.

obviously the level of my build is not in the same class as the cars you mentioned. The Cyber evo and SSE evo are Unlimted class TA cars with big power, DOT slicks, and lighter better chassis setups. My video is more of a look into what can be achieved on a budget with alot of practice and development.

That is very impressive. Not much else needs to be said.

I know the duratec engines are really similar to mazda 3 engines. Do these fords also share the basic chassis with the mazdas like the mid 90s ford escorts and mazda proteges did?

its actually the other way around ;) first gen focus chassis (C170) came out in 99 in europe, in the US this chassis was introduced in 2000, the C170 chassis in the US went all the way to 2011, with different body revisions. but Europe got the 2nd gen focus chassis in 2005, which is the SAME chassis as US market mazda 3's. the 2nd gen chassis is still very similar to the first gen, so handling dynamics and chassis tuning strategies between focus, and mazda 3 are very similar.

@ SixCylinders How is this (awesome) street class Focus comparable to any high hp/awd/rwd/limited/unlimited class car, not to mention the two top Evos in the world... lol ??? And each of those cars sounds different, each for (what I thought were) apparent reasons.

(I did not see CB's post before I responded, but I just did read it) Great response Clint, and big time congrats on the sub 2min lap! Insane street time and an AMAZING video to watch for those of us who have a hard time comprehending how fast/quick cars in the Unlimited class (and even Limited nowadays) really are.

I'm still on the edge of my seat to hear/see SSE's WTAC lap, and see them hit some US tracks with the current setup on kill-mode (When though!?! lol). Listening to the crude/uneducated trash talk coming from a certain team who BARELY beat an old/outdated class record caused me to loose massive respect for said team (which I eagerly followed for seasons). NOT talking about FXMD, everyone involved with FXMD deserve massive respect, and I can't wait to see what they continue to do.
