Redline Time Attack - Buttonwillow Season Opener Results

by Jeff Naeyaert

We headed up to Buttonwillow last Saturday to check out the first Redline Time Attack of the 2010 season and shoot a couple cars for upcoming features.  When we pulled in we were surprised to find a big stage set up with live music, a Mexican food truck and even some girls!  We expect this kind of off-track entertainment at a Formula D event, but not a Time Attack--not way out at Buttonwillow!  Admittedly, the music was probably a little loud and a number of teams complained about it being distracting, but getting more people out to the events is a good idea for the sport and our industry, so hopefully Redline can figure out a recipe to make it work!

We'll add the official results as soon as we get them from Redline; apparently they're having some problems with the Modified class results.  In the meantime here's some snaps we got!  For a great recap of the whole weekend, check out Antonio Alvendia's report over at MotorMavens.com!

Teaser: Stay tuned for a full feature on this monster!

Rado's TC car got to the the most insane car to drive. I'm sure it has piles of grip due to the downforce but it's still FWD.

Badass pics... If your not spinning your not pushing hard enough. Rado must have huge attachments to pilot that car to the times it is putting down.

I dig the belt graphics on the Takata car. I didn't even realize that was belt until now.

Jim: that was a good one.

"For a great recap of the whole weekend, check out Antonio Alvendia's report over at MotorMavens.com"

I did just that. Antonio writes about the Sierra Sierra car:

"I tried to find some info on this car, as I don’t know much about it… I don’t even know what Sierra Sierra Enterprises is. I couldn’t really even find any decent info on the web! I know it was featured in a magazine sometime last year, but I don’t remember which one featured it."

Maybe someone should direct him over here to MotoIQ. =)

I think the only thing missing on the TC is a 3rd Huge Ass wing on top of the car.

What gets me is the apparent lack of GOOD coverage of the Redline results. Their own site is absolutely crap in terms of results. They are hard to find, do not list car details etc.....

Antonio (Alvendia) should stick to what he knows best.....drifting-stuff, and let the people that are into grip handle that duty.
