Is there any particular reason that certain runners on the exhaust manifold looked 'hotter' in comparison with the rest?

If you think the power level is low, take note that one bar is way less than stock boost.

to rawkus, the reason for the 'hot spots' has to do with the curvature of the manifold, as the hot gas leaves the engine, it hits the outer wall of the first curve and the energy is absorbed the most. Think of it like pinball, every time the ball hits an angle, that spot absorbs the most amount of energy as it redirects the ball. At the first curve, the gas has the most amount of energy and every curve after that the gas looses energy. That is why a lot of guys wrap or coat their manifolds; to keep the heat/energy in to direct it through the turbo.

What is stock boost on the Evo X 4B11 anyway?

Mike: it is funny since you're a Brit and your icon has that one eyed lens that British dudes in the 1800s used to rock haha.

Maeda: Stock boost on the EVO X is 1.5bar (21.75psig) I believe.

Stock boost peaks at about 1.5 bar like Eric said, but starts to drop quickly to about 12-13psi at redline.

So even though this Full-Race/GT35 setup is only running ~2psi more boost at redline, it's making about 100hp more than stock (291hp). Low back pressure from the big turbine wheel and housing is good :) Compressor wheel is probably more efficient at this level too.

not bad after all at 1 bar of boost eric.even though im a nissan god the evo is still 10 is still a wonderful machine just need some more aftermarket parts to be made for the evo ten 4b11 engine.

i think the evo 10 is the last of mitsubishi evolution production they have reach their peak in the production of evo.would mitsubishi have the guts to build and manufacture a evo 11?

cant wait for 2013 for the nissan skyline r36 drop the effect of the r36 woould like a asteroid hitting earth.

Thinking I don't want to read any more of this series or I am going to end up a) wanting more power in what I have, b) wanting to go find an Evo c) then both ;)
Nice vid, keep it coming!

I'm sure there will be an EVO 11 (or so I hear). I think we will see a reversal of trends however with smaller, lighter cars with smaller, more efficient, turbo engines. I'm down with anything as long as it has a turbo on it.

Cool glad you guys like. I will try to keep this a series as results come. I just do not seem to have the time anymore these days to crank out 3-5 posts/week like I used to.

every is eric.understand say at times the ultimate tuner is a busy man.one of these days your going to enter the Guinness book of world record.your the man of the moment.

wish i overseas and not in jamaica to get the real experience of the modification of cars.thank god i can reach i learn alot.but knowing the theory eric and not knowing the practical is a problem.

your a icon in the business i would consider use as one of the best tuners in america right now.you and mike kojima combine anything is possible not evn even the earthquake that struck haiti could stop you guys.you and mike inspire me alot.

Keep the updates coming! Good stuff!

Have you guys ever tested TiAL's Stainless turbine housings? We have used them in a few builds with great results, but I would love to see some engine dyno results
