Hey guys and gals. I would like to take a minute to show off a little of our 2011 Pro-Am build.

Well with a 5th place finish, a "rookie of the year" title at the Thunderdrift Pro-Am series, and having to decline an invite to the Pro-Am Nations due to the car not up to Formula D tech..It was time to get cracking.

First off Rob gutted the car of all wiring and what was left of the interior. He also had all the glass removed so I could start on the cage.

Being that Rob is a very big guy over 6' 7". We had to get the cage as far out as possable.

Once the front half of the cage was tacked together we had to drop it through the floor to make sure we got full 360 degree welds.

Now that the top of the cage was done we plated the floor and atached the cage to the car.

We wanted a little wiggle room with the door bars so we bent them to go indo the door shell.

No giant dimple die plates here.

We still have a bit to do, and only a couple of weeks until the first event.

Thanks to everyone that has been helping us along. The entire build can be seen at Rob's web sitewww.mestiso.net/forums/index.php

Thanks for looking

I feel your pain, the new FD rules are making teams have to either build new cars or patch up their old ones. We had to do an extensive unibody rebuild on our car.

I have followed your build from last year pretty closely, and I heard that you guys need to do quite a bit of work for this year. I would love to see some of the work you guys are doing, as it is always an inspiration to me.

Would also like to see the progress on Dai's S13.  I guess you guys are adding back the front end sheet metal up to the tension rod mounts and going back to S13 rear subframe?  What else needed to be changed?
