Well, the time has come I think. There are many many reasons and part of me of course wants to keep this S13, but it is time to put it up for sale.
This chassis was originally a California car. It was brought east and converted to 5-speed from the original automatic when the KA was still in it; it spent some time in Tennessee, then West Virginia, before I purchased it. It has NEVER seen salt. The chassis is pristine, with no rust to speak of. Frame rails are solid as is the core support. Every time I remove a bolt, it still has CAD-plating on it. Additionally, the chassis is very solid. Few rattles or squeaks, and the doors close with a nice solid thump. The car also has NO electrical problems – none. Everything that’s there works the way it’s supposed to.
In addition to the modifications below, there are a number of maintenance items that have all been done within the last 5000 miles. These include (but are not limited to) new front/rear main seals, valve cover gasket, timing chain tensioner and gasket, power steering rack/pump/lines/tie rod ends/FLCA/balljoints, brake pads (very new), and since installing the larger turbo all of the gaskets in the turbo/downpipe are new. There’s also a new clutch master and slave cylinder, with the damper removed. I installed self-adhesive heat wrap onto the strut tower and frame rail under the master cylinders, so that in the event they leak (they don’t, never have) the brake fluid won’t get onto the paint and cause a potential rust problem. Finally, I’ve run nothing but Mobil 1 synthetic oil in this car since I’ve had it. The engine is exceptionally clean both top and bottom, and it typically gets the oil changed every 1500 miles or so (I always hit three months before 3000 miles).
This is one of the cleanest S13s I’ve seen. I went to a lot of trouble to locate a rust-free chassis, and I did all of the work except the paint and the engine wiring. I went with custom Koni/GC coilovers to maintain good street manners while achieving excellent handling. I used Vorshlag tophats front and rear to eliminate the noise sometimes associated with the Ground Control hardware. When I swapped the front to the Silvia parts, I even went to the trouble to open the headlights and install Hella projectors in the low beams, to obtain the proper LHD beam pattern and MUCH better light output.
The S15 T28 is very responsive, spools quickly, and laid down 291hp at the wheels on a Dynapack dyno. This was at 15psi on 93 octane pump gas. The Greddy boost controller has a low setting (10psi) and of course you can shut it off and run on the wastegate, at which point the car still gets about 30-32mpg on the highway.
Now the not-so-good – well, there’s not much. The front seats could use a cleaning, or perhaps get the front and rear seats reupholstered to match. The other issue is that the paint is starting to show its age – the hood and front bumper have picked up some rock chips, and there is a bit of orange peel here and there. That’s about it though – otherwise the car is super clean and extremely solid.

I am not willing to part this car out. While it’s true I am moving on, I did build this car and I’m not interested in taking the time to disassemble what I’ve taken seven years to put together. I couldn’t do so if I wanted, as I have neither the space nor the time, and no way to dispose of the shell once it’s stripped anyway. I’m also not really willing to remove parts to make the car cheaper, as I have no stock parts to replace anything with.
Therefore, as the car sits, I am asking $10,500 – somewhat firm, though I will consider offers. I have roughly $25,000 invested in parts alone – to duplicate this car would probably cost $40,000 or more in parts and labor. At less than half the price of parts I feel this is a reasonable amount. A number of spares will be included – a few suspension parts (stock upper mounts etc), and some engine spares – ignitor, water pump, coilpacks w/harness, and some other things, as well as all of the spare Ground Control hardware I didn’t install on the car. I also have the entire T25 setup – turbo, outlet, oil/water lines, 370cc injectors in the rail, and the 62 ECU.
I will also consider some trades (listed at the top), possibly with cash to you on top of my car depending what your trade is. I am NOT interested in a Miata, AE86, or another S13 - I might consider an S14 but it would have to be NA and have extensive sound deadening
I’ve tried to be as forthcoming with information as I can be. Please PM or email me if you have questions.
