The steering rack in my S13 is leaking pretty badly.  The dealership wants $1600 for a new one and that's a rip off if I've ever heard one.  Some of the cheap ones are going for as low as $200, but I don't want to get stuck with a rack that fails in 2 years.  What is a good supplier for rebuilt racks at a reasonable price?  I'd be willing to pay $400 or so for a rack that is going to last.  Thanks!

I do know it's the rack, all of the soft lines are new and the pump is not lekaing.

Cool idea, but I probably don't have the money for that. I also drove my roomie's Fit the other day with electric steering and I didn't like it. Maybe it's just how the Fit is tuned, but it felt too heavy at low speed and the power assist was never predictable. I mostly want to know who supplies good quality refurbished racks so I can repair my leaking steering.
