Has anyone seen Top Gear Season 10 Episode 1? The three blokes take 3 sports cars a Porsche GT3 911 RS, a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and a Aston Martin V8 Vantage M24, and look for the best driving roads in Europe (they say the world, but as you see in the video, they only look at Europe). Well it so happens that I'm taking a trip to Europe and I plan to take a rental sports car to drive for one day on some of the roads they took.
http://www.redlineblog.com/top-gears-worlds-best-driving-road-in-detail/
The route I planned is east from Davos on route 28 to Susch. Then south to Zernez Then south-west on route 27 to St.Moritz. Then south on route 29 to Tirano and then trough Bormio to Stelvio Pass.
I will be splitting the car with my friend. He's willing to spend up to $1000 for his share, I'm a little reluctant to spend that much on my share. For a sample of the cars we can rent, check this link http://www.drivetravel.com/statesupplier.aspx?pagename=exclusive_rent_a_car_italy_&supplier_id=108&country_id=107
Unfortunately, he can't drive a manual so we'll have to get an automatic. It would be nice if I could get access to some of the asian imports instead of only euro imports. They'd probably perform just as well but at a lower price.
Anyone have experience driving that route?

I´m in Barcelona, Spain at the moment. One thing that´s interesting here is all the different types of makes that do not appear in the US. In about a week my friend and I will be on our way to Italy to do that excursion. My friend has been keeping record of the trip at our blog, http://alexbrenteurotrip.blogspot.com/
When we do Davos to Stelvio, we will take a lot of pictures.

I saw that episode of Top Gear and now I have a compelling reason to want to travel to Europe.
