Others have probably done this, but I had trouble finding the correct wiring on any of the forums I usually frequent. But first off, the rationale. I long ago traded in my NX1600 plastic steering wheel for an NX2000 leather wheel. But the leather separated, so I found another. When this wheel had the leather separate from the base, I started looking for something different and found a mint S13 steering wheel. Fit perfect, but completely different connections. So I ran with no cruise or horn for a while.
1. Took the B13 base plate with the 3 rings that connect to the power and cruise functions.
2. Cut off all but 1/4 inch of the three supports that hold it to the b13 wheel.
3. Save the B13 wiring. Also, save the S13 wiring. They'll be spliced together.
4. Car - Red wire is positive; blue wire is cruise set; yellow wire is cruise resume. Cancel works through both.
5. Horn Pad (S13) - yellow wire is positive; green wire is cruise set; white wire is cruise resume.
6. Black wire is for the horn, and splice it onto the S13 yellow horn connector.
The classic piece needed to complete this task is a rubber truck mud flap - about 3/8 inch thick. Cut it (jig saw works) in a circle to fit in the steering column, cut an opening for the steering wheel bolt. This rubber holds the B13 base plate against the connectors.
Horn and cruise both work perfectly. Now I don't have my signal cancel working yet, that will wait for another day. Unless one of you can chime in about that.
Pics will follow - I'm off to the track for the weekend. Thanks to my good friend, Dave, who helped me troubleshoot this process.
