Hello all of you MotoIQ fans.  As you know it is expensive to produce MotoIQ.  We currently burn through $3-5000 dollars a month to provide you with top level original content, what we feel is a step above anything currently in print or on the web for the hard core enthusiast.  Presently this money has been funded by private investors and cannot keep coming forever.  For the most part we stick with original content because web mining isn't what we feel is what our readers want.

We need to sell advertising to help keep the dream alive and to make it even better.  We want to have a larger editorial staff, to be able to have cool events, to do more extensive testing and on track evaluations.  We need money to do this.  Unlike the large faceless corporations that run most publications we will but the money back into our product as we strive to be the best by far.

One hurdle we are running into when trying to get advertisement is that the volume of our traffic is relatively low compared to mass volume sites such as Speedhunters, etc.  Many advertisers have volume as there sole requirement.  Some don't get our vision of super quality free content.  We need to triple our traffic to attract serious advertisers.

Help support our efforts at fund raising before the money runs out.  Most of you go to other places on the net besides here.  Please when you can, start threads to promote this place, link back to it from your myspace and facebook accounts.  Post links back to here on subjects where our content will help shed some light.  Every little bit helps.  Most of our growth has come like this through your grassroots cross posting.  Now I am asking if all of you can help a little.  Post here on the forum and use our community tabs.  This is a real neat feature that no one has discovered yet, like facebook with your gearhead peers.  Fill out your profiles and upload profile pictures.  We will improve your MotoIQ ranking if you do that and remind us.  Help keep our forum the cool place it is, help the newbs and don't flame.  We haven't required one bit of moderation since day one and we have an elite group here.  Let keep it that way.

When you cross post and link, the gist of into posts should be something along the lines of "if you miss tech based magazine like SCC and Turbo, please check out MotoIQ".

Help us grow and I promise to do my best to give it all back by giving you stuff that the other corporations cannot or will not.  Our staff is here because we love what we do, not because we want to get rich.  Being the best at what we do is important to us. Help us get volume and you will get more and better original coverage.

Mike

Keep it up guys, our traffic is starting to go up. Lets keep on getting the word out. I am sure a lot of people will love this place if you all help them find it! If we can triple the traffic, we should be able to land some accounts to get budjet to do some fantastic stuff.

Thanks for your help so far, we are up about 10% since you started to help. Lets keep it going, we feel that this is the place for the true beleivers!

No need for a donation but what you can do that would be very helpful is keep coming back and tell your friends about us.  Our Editors work very hard to try and release at least one article a day.  Your lucky to get 8-12 articles out of any monthly publication.  The more you and your friends come back and read the more we can start offering in terms of projects, testing and site features.

Mike and staff, first of all thanks for what you guys are doing for the community i really apperciate it. Ive been coming by for a while but i finally decied to sign up for the forums.

But have you guys ever considered hosting autocross's/track days for additional cash flow?  I realize a lot of the people on here are spread out through the US but i believe the main concentration of people is in SoCal right?

There's really a glut of people putting on track days in So Cal.  There's NASA of course, and I like to run with Speed Ventures.  Then there's Redline Time Attack, and a bazillion Porshce/BMW/etc clubs holding track days.  And that's just car track days.  All the other track days are taken up by the motorcycles guys.

In short, in my opinion, hosting track days is not a good option at this point for creating cash flow.  However, attending stuff like the Industry Track Day put on by Mackin Industries gives MotoIQ exposure.

Funny... I just linked your battery relocation article on the SR20-forum.
I'm a member of 15+ car forums covering a wide spectrum. If something here can help them, I'll be sure to link it. I'm reading every article.

I think someone should create a linked banner of some sort for your fans to use as a sig in other forums.

I assume you could use this banner:

http://www.motoiq.com/Portals/0/Logo/logo7.png

And make the hyperlink to:

http://www.motoiq.com/

If that's too big which I assume it might be let me know what size image would work for other forum sigs and I'll cut the image down in file and dimension; then host it for those of you who wish to link.

Many thanks!
