Funny how time flies. Last July I was in an auto accident that pretty much wiped me out for the remainder of the year. But, I'm back on my feet and making plans. In February, I'll take out our track Miata and see if I can handle the strain to the neck and back, I hope it works out well.
So, I'm putting together a 2 year plan to get to NASA nationals in 2013. They are supposed to move back west that year, and we'd like to attend. If I can't drive, my buddy Geoff is working on getting his license. If that doesn't happen, then I'll find someone to drive the car. However, with some more PT, I should be ready by then.
The rules have changed for American Iron, mostly due to complaints about the inability to police the Ford racing ABS that was developed for World Challenge and other Ford factory racecars. This gives our non-ABS car a rwhp/rwtq break. And I have a number of questions about how best to use that potential advantage. I'll post in the appropriate sub-forum when the time comes.
The short term goal is to get the replacement street car finished, then I'll bring the race engine home and get to making the oiling modifications.
Stay tuned.
