...So do Saturn and Hummer really belong here anymore?

Not sure but I used JD Powers as the source for all car sold in the US. I can't belive there is so little interest in the domestics here. The Cobalt SS is a great car and the Direct Injection Turbo ECO Tech is full of potential. I want to do a Cobalt SS project car badly.

If you got real picky you could remove Saturn and Hummer since they've been sold off. I'm just bustin' yer chops so don't worry about it. But anyway, I'm sure there will be more domestic activity in the future, there's hardly any activity at all since this place is new. I've got a 65-68 Mustang fastback on my future cars list...

While I haven't driven it myself, just from the numbers, that Cobalt SS (Turbocharged) IS a great car. I think the fact that its a turbo (as opposed to supercharger) and tuned on that big track in Germany help give it the edge. Looking back, I think the last domestic article I remember Mike doing was the project Neon with the Koni shocks back at SCC. When I was in middles school (before I subscribed to SCC), that was my favourite compact because it was fast and cheap.

Having driven several Cobats SS cars either with the LSJ or LNF engines, they do seem like they have plenty of potential (minus the cheap quality interior).

While being fun vehicles, im still a diehard GM 60* V6 guy.. Hence I own 2 W-bodies with intent to purchase a another for a toy.. You would be suprised how well the heavy tanks can handle, just everything is pretty much custom.

Hopefully GM will get their crap together soon...

I drove a new Cobalt SS and was impressed, but one thing GM can't seem to get right is the "feel". The Sachs dampers don't feel vavled right and somehow they messed up the pedal feel of Brembos, the motor doesnt rev. The car does excellent numbers but it drives like a crappy rental car.

I do love driving it though. I want to hate the car but I end up liking it.

Well, its based on a crappy rental car

And I have to agree with you, in terms of daily driving, hitting a decent bump tends to make the car feel very unsettled.

I still cant get over the interior, the pained trim panels, mainly around the window switches wear away very quickly.. Looks horrible.
