So when are we going to be able to buy MotoIQ vinyl stickers, license plate frames, and the like?
I really want a license plate frame that says "HellaFUNCTIONAL" across the top and "MotoIQ.com" across the bottom. |

Licence plate frames are done, our MotoIQ Team shirt and Nerd Alianc e shirts are done but production is being held up by, get this, a worldwide shortage of cotton which is making it hard for us to get the base t-shirt. Our T-Shirt designs are done by Dennis Caco of Max Boost and Autocannon fame. Nerd Alliance is the first of many designs to come, including a Hella Functional one. |

License plates are here, decals we're working out final details on, and we have 2 shirt designs ready. Now we just need to figure out how we're gonna offer it. There are a couple options we've been throwing around: 1. The usual - open an on-line store and sell everything for a set price 2. NPR model - MotoIQ is free, but it sure as hell is not free to run. We could ask for "donations" and for said donation you get a MotoIQ swag pack; shirt, plate, decals. The amount of merchandise depends on amount of donation. 3. NPR + The usual - We start with a donation, which gives you a 1 year "Membership" plus your MotoIQ swag pack. Then you have the option to buy extra swag - ONLY Members can purchase additional items. I'm really pulling towards 3 as it rewards our true readers and fans, which as Members are official supporters of MotoIQ. Thoughts, ideas, complaints I'd like to hear your opinions before I make a decision. Gracias! Martin |

Another PRO for the "Membership" = we could run monthly raffles for cool parts from our Partners which would only be open to our Members. |

I always like the word "support" more than subscription, member or any other option. We're not exactly commercial free here so donation doesn't seem like the right choice of words either. PBS gets away with using the word donate and offer their gifts as well based on donation. It's nit-picky but it's not like being a PBS "Member" offers any exclusive rights other than the good feeling of donating to Public Broadcasting. |

Support, membership, allowance, whatever you want to call it. We're focusing on the wrong part of the question here With all the options I've laid out you ARE getting something for what you give more than just the good feeling of giving. |

Agreed on the first part but I'm not the only guy out there that gets irked by the choice of words. These days the most powerful vote I feel that I have is where I choose to spend the money my government lets me keep.
As far as the second part I can't think of a reason to limit sales of merchandise regardless of "membership." |

I've been thinking about this the last couple of days and thought of one possible scenario that is good for us supporters and those of us who want to be better supporters. 1st - Online store for pretty much all if not everything. 2nd - VIP memberships where maybe a cool item or 2 could be available. A BETTER idea would be a VIP Motoiq discount arrangement with Motoiq advertisers. I could make a compelling case to all advertisers in the industry that such discount codes would help to better know where their advertising dollars are being spent but VIP discounts could be extremely helpful for Motoiq extra supporters! PS Martin, if you were taking pics in PHX, then I introduced myself to you at the Lotus group. I was working with the Redline tech crew collecting transponders BUT if I had my Motoiq swag, then I could've been more identifiable! |

I like the option of the store being open for all. While there are 1700+ members signed up on the site a lot of traffic to the site comes from people who aren't signed up but are still fans of the site. NPR is great though, it's nice to support the members of the site who support us in turn. |
