Hmm..... On the Nissan SR20 at least, it was BSPT, not NPT thread.  Maybe it's BSPT on the LS1 too?

Pulled the water pump, intake mani, rockers, pushrods, exhaust mani, radiator....tomorrow the lifters come out and hopefully they are in bad shape.

Newest update:

Pulled the lifters today and two of them are scarred pretty bad as well as some places on the camshaft....Looks like I found my problem, and I'll prob be getting a new oil pump, lifters, cam, head gasket/bolts pretty soon.

It's always good to find the cause of a problem despite the pain in the ass and cost of repair. You might have too much valve spring seat pressure for the application. Are the springs you have matched for the cam and rpm you run the engine at? Most aftermarket springs in the Japanese engine performance market have way too much seat pressure.

Thats actually something I was thinkin about. I dont run the engine too hard but the dual valve springs keep me from ever having any problems, but they could be putting too much pressure on the valve train.
