BACK IN THE GAME!!! Okay, so after selling my "wes-wanna-be" b14, I've been through a number of cars in 2½ years. PT Cruiser GT, Corolla, another PT Cruiser GT (don't ask...I was confused)....and now a Mazda3. Shoulda got that in the first place. Anyway, I finally have a nice peppy little car that gets moderate mileage when I drive like my dad, but gets up and goes when I want it to, AND it drives like its on rails compared to all of my other cars (and it's stock..for now).

Feels good to finally have a car to WANT to work on. AND feels good to have a nice community to come to again.

Thanks yall!!

PS - hey Wes!!! VERY cute kid!!!

I've been a fan of this platform for awhile. I personally like the Mazdaspeed 3 and was considering it when I got my Evo IX back in the day. (I ended up going in the direction of AWD instead of FWD)

Congrats!

I have always liked the 3 wagon's. You should throw some wood paneling on it and spray paint Honkey Lips on the side

Thanks wes.

I would have loved to got the Speed3 route, but gas mileage was the main reason why I got rid of the Turbo Cruiser twice....sh*tty mileage. Even though this ain't as good as the Corolla, it's kind of a middle ground between the two I had. AND it looks cooler than the "PT looser" as Wes would say.

Acutally, the Mazdaspeed3 gets crazy highway mileage. Like 31 cruising at 75-80 up to Mazda Raceway* Laguna Seca. Its one of the few cars I've ever driven that beats its EPA rating.

Anyway, thanks for buying a Mazda3. Every sale goes straight to my paycheck!

*I'll get fired if I don't call it that!

Congrats! The Mazda 3 is a very well-built, FUN car to drive. In bone-stock form it did a 2:16 at Buttonwillow!

Check out the Tri-Point turbo kit which makes the car a MS3 beater (2:08 at BW vs. 2:09 for MS3) - SCC article.

Really? I've easily beat the EPA rating with several cars I've owned, including another Mazda, my wife's Mazda6i. But not including either of my WRX's

I like the 3, considered it twice. First time back in late 2002, but we bought the 6 instead. Second time, the Speed3 was in my top 3 cars when I bought my WRX in '07. I was very close on it, but the wait list was 6 months out and besides, AWD makes winter that much less of a PITA.

p.s. to Dave - have someone design some better motor mounts, would you? I'm in the midst of replacing all 3 right now at 60K miles!! (the car has been rock solid besides)
