I want to but Falken, Formula D and running this place has got me pretty busy. I want to go there as a racer soon, like in PTD! I want a national championship. |

Having a blast. Car is doing well, had some issues this morning after the first session (car has been really consistent except for the first session this morning).... exhaust came unbolted, front calipers were binding after a pad change..... but it worked well to sandbag and keep everyone guessing. Brakes are golden now, but driver needs to change his braking zones and brake later, pad drag (see not cleaning and greasing contact points) was heating the pads/rotors and affecting braking. Tire pressures are dialed, alignment is dialed, power is great despite the altitude. First set of slicks are trashed but we'll run them tomorrow for the morning session balls out anyway before switching to the new set to scrub them in and make changes. So far we're up in front of our time attack class by 1.6 seconds on trashed Hoosier R6's. The 1900 mile drag on the car dolly knocked the camber off, so we spent 3-4 tweaking it out on the first day. I figure out how I need to modify the steering knuckle to make track adjustments easy and repeatable, but have to wait until we get back. I'll do a how to, simple, cheap, effective. I'll try to get some pics up, and we've gotten some great vids I'll try to get up too.

If I'm not mistaken, my buddy (Graham Downey) qualified 1st yesterday in the Honda Challenge H4 class. Last year he won the title......today another day of qualifying.....and tomorrow race. Go Graham!

C car, black and yellow? Great looking car, quick too. Didn't see the tangle up, just the tire marks down the left side in impound.
Joe took 1st in TTE with a 2:17.9, a full 2.1 seconds ahead of the group. We had to hit impound and the scales after every run, had to hit the dyno next to last day with about 5 hp to spare to be legal for min HP to WT. 180 hp at the wheels at altitude isn't too shabby.
We took a DQ on the the 3rd day and lost our times because of our front bumper and a weak deffinition of "canard" and "splitter"............ a little vinyl contact paper, some expandable foam, a roll of duct tape later, and I made quick work of the "canards". We also had to strip a few other parts from the car to make up points for the front bumper I couldn't remedy in a timely mannor......... Joe then proceeded to run just 1/10th off his best lap before posting the 2:17.9. Lesson learned: if you are going to take the point for a mod....... get EVERYTHING you can out of that point. If the car ends up with real canards, they will push every limit of the written rule, as well as everything else that gets refined on the car.
It was a pretty weak showing for Nissan, they were represented by only 5 cars out of the whole field.
Will have pics and vids up soon. Should be at the Z national in Conyers, GA, see you there whoever is going.

NISMO header, Megan mid pipe to short side exit exhaust, JWT BSR, JWT clutch and flywheel, AEM CAI w/ ram ducting in bumper, knock sensor relocate, +2* timing, good fluids, loosened up w/ lots of hard miles, light weight wheels, and light weight 2 piece rotors.
The motor for next season will be extensivly gone through and built to move into TTD, and maybe PTD.
Didn't look at the correction factor on the dyno...... I doubt it would have been corrected to sea level for verification at the competition elevation. |

Same Joe, still into Nissans. He's told me his back in the day stories of SE-R mesage boards. |

The QR is out.. and the VQ is almost in. Today Big J and I relocated the alternator to the AC location, found a suitable belt and drafted up plans to drop the motor and move it back for better CG. Next race is early Feb at CMP |
