I'm not exactly sure if it's just me or the driver just might have a miniature head, this picture makes the car look HUGE!!!

It's just like every other new car that's coming out--oversized and overweight... 3500lbs is the new 2500lbs... |

Sucks that the CR-Z is immediately relegated to a future (in 5-10 yrs) project car... at high $19k for the base model and 23k for navi, you're almost better off getting a new Civic Si and starting w/the engine you want. Wait a couple years for used prices to drop a bit and MAYBE it'd be worth the effort. Still, Edmunds states it's 2650 lbs, so after you do the swap, you're left w/a car that's ab 200-300lbs lighter (possibly lighter when you take out the batteries) than an Si, but has torsion bar rear suspension. I suppose it's workable, the Euro Type R has similar suspension. But then again, the prev gen Euro EP3 Type R was a better car. I agree Honda should just stick an awesome engine in there and let it do the job to get the efficiency. And yeah, somehow a lightweight car is becoming heavier and heavier... I remember when my buddy was complaining about how overweight the EK Civic was, which is about 2500-2600 lbs. It's also amusing that the Mini Cooper is touted as being so lightweight when it also weighs about 2700 lbs. |

That's the problem, the mileage SUCKS! A Ford Fusion Hybrid gets 41city/36hwy, it's a freakin mid-size sedan, 0-60 in 8.7, 1/4 in 16.4@87.8. The CR-Z should at least be faster, or get better mileage, but it does neither and it's way less practical!
A Mini Cooper S gets 26city/34hwy. Not far off from the CR-Z, but way faster and much more fun to drive. |

Yeah, not to mention the Civic Si or even the base Civic... or shoot the Fit. I am left wondering what the point of this car is...

And it's supposed to be turbocharged! Heck, I'd actually consider buying that!

CR-Z Type R? I can't wait to see all those badges on the wrong cars all over again... If a real Type R comes back to America I think I would get it for sure, if its the CR-Z then I'm lost... according to this link they say a K-series Cr-z will not happen http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/248239/hondas_new_crz_type_r.html#ixzz0fqZSfHsR |
