I don't want to turn this thread into Sony vs Sony or anything... count me lucky I guess 'cause I've bought almost all Sony and literally nothing's broke. PS1, PS2, 2 flatscreens, dvd player, a console TV from 1983 my grandpa bought new and I inherited, I gave it away a few years ago and it was still clear as a bell. Betamax never gave me trouble for 20 years of service, vcr and video camera from a decade ago still work. I use the PS2 in my bedroom every day to watch dvd's and it's been perfect since I bought it in '01... not one failure, what can I say?

I fixed my broken throttle linkage on my TAG Kart and redesigned the linkage so it would not happen again, I hope. I also nut and bolted the thing and swapped some of the critcal hardware to a higher grade. My daughter was getting bummed that the thing breaks in the first session everytime we go to the track.

I suppose I should take it down to a bare chassis and go through it like I did to her kart. Her kart has been dead reliable.

Christa's kart had the flywheel magnets demagnitize which everyone says is imposible, lost spark would not start. Replaced the whole ignition system but would only pop until I replaced the flywheel. Spent all day on dyno for 80 bucks but doubled her power. Screwed around with pipe length, igntion timing and jetting WPC made a 10% difference on her little 50cc. She should go fast this weekend. Went from 1.8 to 4 hp with pipe tuning, wpc and tuning.

Her trick Cadet Kart sits until she gets big enough to drive it.

Since im a mechanic, do the cars I work on at work count??

If so, 2 inner tie rods on a 02 Mitsu Lancer. I love how the 'Moog' parts were actually OE replacement 'Three 5' parts

And some kid who cant drive his Grand Am properly though snow give me the opportunity to replace his R/F steering knuckle and both struts.

Aside from that, just a bunch of alignments. people love to whack curbs and have me try to get the alignment close but not replace the parts they tweaked.

Sony sucks.

I do like my PS3 (though I own XBOX 360 too)...but I never buy anything sony...its an overpriced name that people are obsessed with...I personally buy and have bought electronics from manufacturers who provide the parts for Sony products...

So I havent had time to ride my Aprilia RS250 since I rebuilt the carbs during thanksgiving weekend. So today I thought I would give it a rip to lunch. Now it doesnt start. It usualy starts on the first kick. It ran really awsome when I rebuilt the carbs. The plugs were fuel fouled but it had the super strong CDI spark, cleaning the plugs didnt help. The compression feels sort of low.

I wonder if the rings got stuck from sitting? Carbs gummed up from sitting? It seems to be getting enough fuel to foul the plugs. Grrrrr.

Pulled and changed the plugs on the SVO this weekend while I was helping a buddy through SFR SCCA Comp School. The knock sensor is pulling a bunch of timing at 3,000 rpm under boost, and I thought it was due to oil fouled plugs (180,000 mile engine). But, the plugs looked clean. I put in a set of NGK TR5s and gapped them at .025, hoping that it was a spark blow out problem. Nope.

Time to look at the fuel system. I'll weld a bung into the exhaust for an oxygen sensor and check it with the LM-1.

So I took apart the RS250's carbs, blew air through the crankcase, dumped carb cleaner in the cylinders and cranked it around a bunch, cleaned out the carb passages, synced all of the many cables that control the cold start enrichment, power valve and throttles, cleaned the plugs and put it all back together, it fired right up and is freaking fast, it lifted the front wheel during my test run and scared me. All nice but I wasted the whole day with this crap.

They seem to have the same life span as any other part in all reality. However I cant remember if OE Nissan Maxima and Altima inner tie rods and ball joints are made by 555 but they have a very high failure rate. Not as much as Chrysler though

These two stroke GP bikes are really fun to ride but are super temperamental. I love the wonderful free feeling of riding a 260 lb race bike on the street. The handling and braking are telepathic. The cantankerous temperamental hyper tuned to an inch of its life two stoke is too high strung though. It get all out of whack really easy. Plus its narrow and violent powerband is well uh interesting.

However now I think I need to ride the Hypermotard, its easy going full of torque and easy to ride. Most of all its reliable.

Ditched my stock iron rear knuckles and craptastic brakes. Now sporting an aluminum knuckle and rear brake setup from a 97-03 Grand Prix. Not quite bolt on but nothing real hard. Stops better too. Changed my oil since I had it in the air along with replacing my lower engine mount and trans mount. Then I swapped in different coilover springs since I didnt like how stiff the front springs were and the rear was too soft.

changed the spark plugs and oil in the wrx today. if anyone else out there has a 2007 WRX, you may find that both the ngk and autolite parts books list the wrong plugs for your car.
