.Still working on it George! It is now functional in that we can watch movies, listen to music. Still have quite a bit left to do but it is nice to actually be able to use it. I was working on it today actually tidying up some of the wiring in the rack and making a list of cables I need to order. Things I still have left to do....

Order 2nd row of seats and build riser

Wow, that is one awesome setup.  that will make for some great family movie and game nights. If I may, I want to make a suggestion, you should use big long fluffy couches in there, instead of indiviual seats. more room to lay down or just cuddle with the wife and kids.

This project sure does make up for all that money you spent on that ghey 16. once a hater, always a hater. long live the SR20!  ........you know I love ya!

fixed is a subjective term...

p0300 flashing at me yesterday... figured it was the infamous butterfly screws ingested into the engine. they were all tight and secure, no coolant/oil mishaps going on that i'm aware of. plugs are clean and look ok, still within gap spec. i haven't taken the time to break out the multimeter yet.. maybe if it continues i'll have to do that.

cleared the codes and now it's running fine.

Changed the oil in the Mazda today. Also I fitted three car seats in the back of both cars in anticipation of the soon-to-be-born number Last One baby that's coming. This is a much, much more difficult task than you might think. Most car seats are big and poofy these days so you have to do a lot of research to find a combination that will fit in the tiny backseat of, oh, say, a WRX. You will have trials and errors I assure you.

Changed the oil in the S2000.  It's the first car I've ever changed oil on that I didn't have to crawl under the car.  I can get the drain plug and oil filter from the top!

All the wires to my hatch were cut from opening and closing the trunk lid after 200k miles. I resolder them back together. Now have working hatch lock, rear wiper, and sprayer. First time since owning the beast. Great for the snowy weather.

Changed oil in the Maxima after 15k miles the other night. The oil came out pretty good as a dark brown color with zero sludge. It's all about the discontinued 0-30W Cosworth synthetic engine oil. The check valve on the Purolator oil filter was still intact too. I swear by Purolators (if you are too lazy to get factory for your beater like me). The VQ30 now has 169000 on the ticker and burns less than 1/4 quart in 10,000 miles. You can't beat that with a bat.

Installed some "Rain-X" brand wipers on the Maxima too. I bought them at Target for $9 each with the blade holder. They had some $4 store brand ones for $4 each, but I couldn't get myself to buy those. There had to be something wrong with them or were probably removed from the 50000 ton hydraulic press by a 9 year old girl in China at 2:30am after a 17 hour shift.

Poured some self-leveling underlayment on the floor of one of my upstairs bathroom last week too. What a bitch that was, but now I can lay down some tiles.

I got Christa a used Emick 50cc kids kart with a fresh blueprinted Comer engine for her birthday and we spent the last two days cleaning it up, fixing odds and ends on it and nut and bolting it. It looks like new now. She tried it out in our cul-de sac and in a few minutes was hauling ass pretty good. So I broke out project Ruckus and tried to MotoGP on her and she kicked my ass and lapped me. I was dragging the pegs and she could out corner me.

Then I busted out with the neighbors CRG 125 shifter kart, he brought out his spare kart and we had a 3 Kart battle, she out braked me somehow and passed me twice. I had a hard time keeping the CRG on the pipe and she could get me out of the turns and under braking even though the CRG had 4 wheel discs. I had way more top speed though. It was surprisingly even. My neighbor was being easy on both of us and he just stayed behind Christa. Christa overcooked it on the straights got off line and almost ate the curb a few times and her mom got scared and made us quit.

Man I am tired, I think I did about 100 laps. Christa is pretty tired too,

Fixed a speaker issue. I installed some new speakers in the car a while ago but ended up with a ground loop noise. Turns out the power terminal of the speaker was rubbing on the door sheet metal. Rotated the speaker 90 degrees to where there was more clearance, no more ground loop noise.

Replaced the water pump and serpentine belt in our minivan. In the process, I sheared off a bolt head, leaving the threaded bolt still in the iron block. Taught my son a few new swear words to never say in front of his mom, and then spent the next four hours trying to get that damn bolt out. After all the "easy" tricks failed, I finally borrowed a welder and tacked a washer to the very end of the bolt threads (which were just a mm out of the block), making sure to not weld anything to the block. Then I welded a nut onto that, and got it out. Good times.

Will (is still trying to convince his wife that if he had his own Miller TIG welder, it would somehow save us money by not having to borrow one for free from his friend)

Installed a Tri-Point Engineering rear swaybar, CP-E intake and rear motor mount on the Mazdaspeed3. Then did the front brakes on my brothers Silverado. Now i'm sitting down to some nice local microbrewed IPA and playing some Modern Warfare 2.

It's been a good day.

I fixed my 50" Sony Grand Wega projection LCD TV's lamp driver yesterday. A little research on Agoraquest.com and Scribd.com for a service manual goes a long way to saving $750 the repairman quoted me. My total cost was $136 for parts, 20 minutes with a #2 phillips screwdriver, and 4 inches of black helicopter tape.

I used to buy everything Sony, but fuck Sony. I sent a xplod head unit and Sony dvd player on separate occasions for repair and they said they were tampered with and then denied the warranties. I never touched the shit (inside). To their credit, they did warranty another head unit I had issues with. But why am I even having to send this much shit in for repair anyway? I have vowed to never buy anything Sony ever again. I recommend people reading this to do the same. If you visit the agoraquest.com site, you can see how many Sony products are problematic. The catch is that Sony knows of these problems and in many cases do not do shit until a class action lawyer contacts them. Did I say fuck Sony?

So what you're saying is you don't like sony...

I fixed some prototype balljoints with the craziest taper bit I've ever seen. Got it all sorted and installed them. Glad to have got something done as I spent literally half the the previos day tring to get 2 bushings machined and faild cause I had a machinist willing to do it for almost nothing but he had no stock. And the people who had the stock didn't know the price cause "the guy" wasn't there. Gotta love the caribbean.

Finished the mechanical work necessary to get the '86 SVO Mustang back on the road, well except for the exhaust.  My son took everything off the long block a couple of years ago so its was mostly an exercise in finding the parts and fasteners. The PO hacked the wiring, and the mice ate some, so now I'm on to the electrical side. At least it turns over, now to get it to fire.  '80s EFI cars have connectors and wiring that are just falling apart. As much as I'd like to keep all the original connectors, I'm tempted to just change everything I can to weatherpak.

Sorry to hear about the Sony troubles Eric (nice job fixing the tv though). I've always bought mostly Sony stuff and have not had any problems.

Last weekend I disconnected the alarm and ran a jumper wire to let the car start in my brothers jokeswagen. It's been draining the battery and we determined it to be some kind of problem in the alarm system. It's been about 5F this week and it's started every time so far...

I should change my screen names to "anti sony". My wife just bought a Sony digital camera and she won't return it at my request because she likes it to much. DAMN...

I just fixed the EVO X dyno engine harness. The engine is up and running on the Cosworth engine dyno now and only about 8 months behind schedule...
