Same problem we had at Falken, a little more ackerman will fix it. We made a new steering knuckle out of some flat mild steel plate.

well i only have 6 degrees caster right now. Will going to 9 with the adjustable arms solve the problem you think?

Does it increse the Ackerman? The Lexus has werid steering geometry. Dai's car had 9 degrees of caster and no self steering.

On an IS it does because the IS has little ackerman.

Its a bit of a cross between autocross and a rally sprint. We dont have any wide open areas to play with tso we make do with what we have. Top speed is less than 50 though.

I have a question about the block you put on the ball joint of the is350. If i am correct it spaced the hub 1" out from the ball joint. also you spaced the rack away from the subframe..to give the arms a straighter shot or more angled? Also the block on the ball joint was aluminum or steel?

You want to make the tie rods more angled to get more Akcerman. We used mild steel thinking it would bend before more harder to fix stuff would which was useful when Dai crashed in vegas. About 1 inch would help with the roll center and camber curve.

OK cool thanks. You have given me some things to try. I will make some solid steering mounts to pull the rack away from the subframe first and see how it goes from there.

Mike what about the combo of the spacers to pull the rack away from the subframe and inner tie rod spacers? The combo shoud increas the angle of the tie rods enough to give me back some ackerman. I think.

Inner tie rod spacers give you more steering angle but can make more bumpsteer.

a new design of the RCA/ Quicksteer is coming out. When its finished ill get one because it gives back some akerman. The old design actually reduced it.

Had another race last night. It was a little tighter with a little less straights. I screwed up the initial runs cause I kept hitting cones and the course was very loose. I adjusted rear tire pressures a little and the car settled more. The final (most important) run of the night I NAILED it getting 3 perfect 180s and took home a win for the night. YAY. I must say the TEIN Monoflexs work VERY well at soaking up bumps mid corner and the car did not unsettle at all.
