I was trearing apart a friends engine tonight & noticed that there is some red coating on some of the parts.

A quick back story.  Its a Nissan 300zxTT.  The owner had an earlier Snow Performance WI kit that killed a Blitz boost controler selnoid & started to rust his stock steel intercooler piping so he got rid of the kit.  That was about 2 years ago.  During the time he had the kit he ran the Snow Performance Booser Juice, then windshield washer fluid & then back to the Booster Juice.

Currently his turbince wheels have a red/green/purple coating on them.  #2, 4 & 3 cylinder exhaust valves have the red coating on them, but the other cylindars # 1, 5 & 6 have the normal black mild carbon build up.

I'm not too familiar with WI kits & I know the Booster Juice is Red its self.  Are the red deposites anythign to be concerned with?  Any thoughts as to why one 3 of the 6 cylindars have the coloring?  I'm suprised any of it is there after 2 years (10,000 miles +). BTW he only runs 91 & 100 octane fuel, no leaded fuels.

Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

I do not recall.  The Snow Performance system was deleted about 2 years ago & I had never worked on the car at that point.

I know different fuels and additives leave different colors and residues.  Like MS109 race fuel leaves an orange tint.  Torco fuel additive leaves a pretty heavy residue from what I've read.  As for different cylinders looking different, that could due to uneven distribution of the stuff sprayed.

Octane boosters can also leave colorful residues. That's one of the reasons I stay away from them.
