Need a good power band to about 8k , so I'm thinging twin scroll with a large(er) AR. Looking to make 500ish to propell a 2000lb (FWD) car around VIR at the sub 2 minute mark.
Doable?

A simple GT3582 will do the trick and probably need around 10-11 psi. You'll need a lot of wastegate flow, so a pair of 38mm should do the trick if doing a twin-scroll setup. Garrett will be releasing new T3 divided housings later this year purpose designed for the GT30-35s. |

My car makes more than that with less displacement with a 3071 and a log manifold. 3582 should do it easy. How are you going to get a unibody B15 to 2000 lbs and have a safe car? Nevermind a chassis that is not a noodle? |

with the old SE-R cup cars popping up on the market, putting one together would involve a minimal investment. there's a lot more room in the engine bay of a B13 than a B15. We pretty much bolted in the whole B15 subframe/k-member/control arms/spindles/ etc. in the car. The shifter even uses the factory B13 bolt holes. Once it's on the alignment rack I'll get a good idea of the changes, but they look good. |

Are you going to have room for a full size radiator? And where are you planning on mounting the turbo over the trans maybe? Very cool stuff I think a turbo VQ35 in a B13 is going to be a first! |

everything we've done so far in racing has been on 225 tires and 2780lbs.... so we figure with a 275+ tire size and the right drivetrain/chassis, we can try to take down a few personal goals...... like 2:00 or better at VIR, 1:30 or better at Road Atlanta, etc. If we run the same components across all our cars...... motors, brakes, wheels, ECUs, transmissions, axles, etc. We could swap whatever drivetrain into what ever car we wanted in about a day. looking at the engine bay...... it might be possible to do twins with the V6. The radiator can move forward, the core support is unmodified except for the very top. We just used what we took out of the donor car. All the engine mounts are B15 mounts. Only one had to be modified. There was nothing crazy that had to be done, it was eerie how much stuff more or less lined up and fit. |

It is probably imposible to get a B13 to 2000 lbs and be an effective race car. |

we'll put this one back on the scales for reference. Either way, it'll be a huge weight difference from a B15. |

Holset HX35. They are cheap, durable (although heavy) and somewhat easy to get your hands on. |

our QR25 powered b13 is at 2153lbs We found a local guy with a b13 roller with a rally cage in it. It came in at 2300lbs back when it was a complete car........ which is ok. We gained a bit of track, KPI (also camber), and caster, with the whole subframe swapped in. Proof of concept accomplished.

it's a shell with a seat, a steering wheel, and some switches. AC, heater, dash, all unneeded wires, no interior, doors are skinned, no sound deadening. We could lose a little more, but it'll take out too much structure. |
