I was playing with some of the motor parts I had laying around, specifically heads and valve train parts. Found some really interesting stuff, but I'm going to keep it quiet for now.

You got someone you can recommend cylinder head work? I've done extrude hone and gotten one to flow 248 w/ stock diameter valves. I'm pretty sure with throat hogging for larger valves, then light bowl/blend work, then extrude hone, oversized valves and a good 3 or 5 angle valve job, I bet flow would come in around 280-290cfm. With 12-13:1 compression and some 300* camshafts, it would be a fun NA motor. I'm pretty sure this could make the SR20DE and VE just about obsolete.

anyone got a recommendation for getting a crankshaft knife edged? All it needs is some **slight** clearance work on the counterweights, but a knife edge would definitely do it. I drove all over Georgia and once I had to explain what I was working on, everyone punked out. That and everyone was busy putting together high dollar race motors and didn't want my odd ball chump change project tying up the machinery. I have no problem putting the crankshaft in the mail....... I also would like to find a shop that would do these a few at a time. |

update on the slow slow progress.... Now building a high compression NA motor too. Got the custom flywheels from JWT, one more part out of the way. |

if you end up in Cali, there will be more shop that can do the job than you'll know what to do with. One of the things I don't like about not dealing locally........ |
