Who Needs Sleep When There's Cars and Coffee?
By Joe Lu
I am an Orange County resident, and thus, located in relatively close proximity to a Cars and Coffee location at Mazda's HQ in Irvine, California. This being the case, you'd think that dropping by this weekly event would be a pretty regular occurrence for me. In actuality, I almost never make it out there, but this week was different. Dive in to check out the cars!
Quenching and Tempering: Tony Angelo's Scion FR-S - Part 3
By Justin Banner
Coming down to the wire, Tony Angelo's FR-S is starting to look more like a professional Formula Drift car. Just a few weeks ago, this was once a stock FR-S that was a Sandy Salvage car. Now, it is nearly the perfect head for the axe. However, before you can sharpen it, you must first quench the head to harden it, then temper it to keep it from being too brittle. See now, the quenching and tempering of the FR-S!

By Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz
Tonight, we have Carl Rydquist and Bryan Min from Berk Technology. Then we'll have Joey Redmond from Wrecked Magazine to talk about Formula Drift Tech Day and the news and rumors of FD 2013 just one week before the start of the season! What's coming, what's not, and more! Have questions for our guests or want to add your comments to the discussions? Type them in the comments or on the MotoIQ Facebook Page!
DIY Tech: A guide for the rest of us: KW Variant 3 Installation
By Tatsu Tsuchida
When Mike Kojima extols the virtues of a particular coil-over kit, or discusses what spring rates it has, how the valving works in the shock body, or what sort of proprietary hydraulic oil makes the shock respond well to undulations in the road, I sometimes feel these concepts require an engineering degree. Much of it is over my head, but I know well enough that when a smart guy raves about some product I'm better off following suit than trying to understand it. We all know Mike and Daijiro's relationship with KW is a strong one, and Mike has put these KW V3s on the MotoIQ FR-S, so that's endorsement enough for me.
Making the Fast Car Faster with a Wilwood Big Brake System!
By Mike Kojima
Edik Stepanyan's Integra was already one of the fastest cars in the MPTCC series. To make matters worse for his competitors Edik has been hard at work during the off season dialing in the car specifically for MPTCC rules. In the previous year Edik's car was set up for NASA's H2 class which meant his car was not built to the full extent that the MPTCC's rules allow.

Sneak Peek: Mike Essa and GSR Autosport's E46 Build
By Khiem Dinh
"She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid." That's what Han Solo told me at least. To be fair, the crew at GSR Autosport only has the car halfway built. But what she's showing so far has potential! Let's check out the new goodies on the new chassis.
Driver Blog: Randy Pobst - Hot Weekend in St. Pete

2013 brings my seventh season with K-PAX Racing, five of which have been in the Volvo S60 R-Design. Amazing, how time flies. Whatʼs different about this season is that our deals all got rolling a lot sooner, so the K-PAX team was humming all winter, and we arrived in Florida more ready than we have ever been. This ainʼt no off-the-shelf Porsche, this Volvo has been entirely developed in the capable hands of 3R Racing-based K-PAX, in Denver, Colorado. We even did a couple pre-season tests, a real breakthrough for us. "Well, doesnʼt everyone?" you might ask, understandably. No, my friends, hardly anyone does. Racing always seems to come down to the last minute.
MotoIQ Radio: Scott Vanderheide, WTAC Selection Discussion, Bryan Min of Berk Technology, and Mini-Godzilla(?)
By Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz
We didn't get much time to talk about it, but we'll have Scott Vanderheide of Nissan Race Shop and Project SHART on to talk about his weekend at Redline Time Attack Round 2 at Willow Springs Raceway. Then, Kerryann and I will talk about the new selection process for the World Time Attack Challenge. Could it be a great change or disaster waiting to happen? Then, we'll try to get Bryan Min of Berk Technology away from Carl Rydquist's drift car long enough to talk to us about it and what Berk Technology has going on. If not, then we'll talk about the new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. No, I won't go full redneck, maybe. Finally, we'll talk about a... well, I think Kerryann's R32 GT-R Godzilla had a baby. You'll have to listen in to find out more. Have questions for our guests or want to add your comments to the discussions? Type them in the comments or on the MotoIQ Facebook Page!
Project 240SX Land Speed Racer: Flat Out on the Bonneville Salt Flats (Video)
By Chuck Johnson
It’s really easy for people to discredit going fast in a straight line. Hell, I myself have been guilty of snickering at the thought of "run what you brung" night at the drag races. I mean how much skill could it really take to hold a steering wheel straight and mash on the throttle for a ¼ mile? The truth is though, it doesn’t matter if it’s driving in a straight line or around the same damn circle for hours. Click on the link to see the in-car video!
