Akihabara - Otaku Heaven

The last time I was in Tokyo, I stopped by Akihabara the "Electric Town". For tourists, it's known to be the spot to get deals on new or unreleased (in their country) electronic devices. So you can get the coolest stuff before anybody at home does. It's also known as the favorite spot for Otaku. A friend of mine's told me that Otaku can mean freak as in you like something a lot so you're a freak. So if you like golf then you're a golf freak or golf Otaku. But in today's world I believe the word Otaku refers to a dude who is shy around women, nerdy, and/or geeky. They are typically into electronics, computers, cameras, anime, toys, and women. Except that they don't actu...

Girls at Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

I am severly suffering from a crazy hangover today. I went to my friend's (Nathan at Motec) b-day party/dinner at Garlic Jo's in Newport Beach, CA. The food kicks ass there. I mean the food is REALLY good. After dinner, we ended up going to a bar/club called Detroit in Costa Mesa afterwards and that place was pretty cool too. Needless to say, my friends and I got way faded and I headed back to Torrance with a friend where we continued drinking and stuff until 8am. After the post drinking breakfast, I went to sleep at 10:30am. I'm getting too old for this shit, but it's hella fun while you got the fade on...

Back to the subject at hand. Some of my co-workers and friends...

Tokyo Auto Salon - Best Cars

I know this is late, but oh well. Better late than never. Below are the dopest cars I saw this year at TAS. To be honest, there was more fashion stuff than I hoped to see. What happened to 1990's JDM when everything was just RAW ASS HORSEPOWER? American raw ass horsepower is no fun; they only use it a 1/4 mile at a time. 1990's JDM is my favorite because they USE the power on the street. There were too many fish tanks, chrome wheels, and vans this year.

NASCAR

Somebody put this up on the cork board at Cosworth. I enjoy NASCAR (or at least the last 20 laps), but I thought this was pretty damn funny.

Lagging

I've been lagging big time on putting up entries. So to extend my laggingness, here's a quick video. Do you like mid 90's slow jams like R. Kelly, Blackstreet, Guy, etc? Then you'll like thi...

Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

I got to Tokyo on Thursday the 11th. I cruised the show with Toshi and my friend Jeff. Some cool stuff here as usual. More pics soon!...

New JDM Insider is out......

I'm sure you guys know by now that "The Kanto Tuners" is out. The trippy part is that even though I'm in it, I HAVE NOT SEEN IT YET. I guess I'll have to buy one to watch myself. What a gyp! It's available from 360 video or XS Engineering. This is more Phil's baby so you should get it from 360, but if you want to pick up a turbo while you're at it and get free shipping then buy it from XS!

Dinner with Tarzan and Toshi

On Friday I had dinner with Tarzan, Toshi, Troy @ XS, and some friends at a Japanese BBQ Yakinikku spot in Fountain Valley. I think it's called Tsuruhashi (good stuff by the way). We ran into Moto Miwa the noodle king and Drift Day founder and his family there too. We didn't take any pics because we had way too much sake, but I thought I would mention how much fun we had. We had this whole 30 minute making fun of Toshi session on how Toshi was the gatekeeper in F&F3: Tokyo Drift. This is when the hick and Bow Wow roll up in the incredible Hulk VW and Bow Wow says, "What up, Tosh?!?!" Toshi proceeds to be the gatekeeper and opens up the gate. It took 4 hours to shoot this scene a...

New Years

I spent NYE at Toshi's pad. Yes, Mr. Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, official English D1 announcer, JDM-Insider super star himself. Also there was Yu-san (JDM magazine photographer and JDM Insider), Phil from JDM Insider/360 Video who also doubled as the bad ass DJ, our good friend Jeff Igushi, Jimmy Lin (F&F Tokyo Drift super star), my friend Dave, and all of their associated girlfriends and friends. Was it a party? Today is Wednesday and I am just BARELY recovering. Unfortunately I was unable to take too many pics due to the fact that I was partying super hard, but here a couple. Most ...
