Project AP1 S2000: DIY Oil Filter Stopper

Most S2000 owners know about the oil filter problem on AP1 S2000's. At high RPMS, the engine vibration causes the filter to loosen up (our Project AP1.5 S2000 knows this well, as the F22 swap happened due to this happening on track with the original F20 engine). After a nice Sunday drive, before heading home I decided to check the oil. A gut feeling casued me to check if the filter was tight- which is a good thing that I checked because it was loose. After re-tightening the filter, I was back on my way home- only to find it slightly loose again.

WATCH: Project V8 RX-7 gets ARP wheel studs, wheel spacers and a new set of nuts!

We were so excited about our new Sikky shifter video that we almost forgot to show you exactly how we approached new lug studs and spacers for the rear. We did a pretty good job guessing what offset would give us that perfect flush fitment of our SSR SP4 wheels on our Rocket Bunny widebody RX-7, but there was still room for improvement! We took care of all that with a set of 10mm FIC spacers, new ARP wheel studs and Muteki lug nuts!

Project F150: Part Three - Center Line Wheels and Nitto Trail Grappler Tires

We deal with a basic but important set of decisions when selecting wheels and tires for your vehicle. We’ll freely admit that aesthetics are a big part of our choice, but we have other considerations too for this racecar hauler rig. We selected Center Line RT3X wheels and a set of Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires. In addition, we reprogram our speedometer to accommodate the increase in rolling circumference.

This is a pretty exciting step for us with this project because we can finally add some good handling characteristics to our car to go, along with the more aggressive wheel and tire setup. Despite all the beefy chassis parts that the G37 shares with the 370z, the G is starting to tip the scales as a bit of a porker and tossing this car into a corner really unsettles this car and the driver. We wanted to get the chassis setup right so that it’s fun to drive aggressively without sacrificing comfort- which is a lot to ask for.


 

Project C7 Corvette Stingray Z51: Improving Stopping With a Chevy Performance Big Brake Upgrade Kit

When we did our baseline test of Project C7 at Buttonwillow Raceway configuration 13 CW, we were pretty impressed with the stock Z51 Stingray's on-track performance. We felt the chassis was set up pretty well for the wheel and tire configuration that came on the car, and the whole chassis calibration was matched to the amount of tire the stock car had and the power level of the engine.
