Sydney, Australia - May 2010, Part 1

by Eric Hsu

This is part one of a short series about my trip to Australia back in May. I've already covered the World Time Attack so in this series I attempt to minimize the amount of car stuff and cover more about my short stay in the wonderful city of Sydney and the new friends I made there.

What to do, where to go, what I did, and as usual, my opinions during my Christmas trip to Taipei, Taiwan. Plenty about Taiwanese food, night life, friends, and tourist spots inside.

Back Home Comments

It's good to be back home, but this jet lag fucking sucks. The 17 hour time difference is rocking my sleep pattern pretty bad. I used to be able to handle it just fine when one day of recovery was all it took and I was good to go the next day. Now I'm on the 4th day of recovery and I'm still hurting. Jet lag recovery is directly proportional to hangovers recovery time vs. age apparently.

The DSPORT Tokyo Auto Salon tour is actually pretty good, but my schedule did not allow me to go on the entire tour. Today they went to the Nissan R35 GT-R VR38DETT engine factory in Yokohama which was undoubtedly pretty cool too. I do recommend the DSPORT tour for next year if you are thinking about going to the Tokyo Auto Salon. I met some cool people on the tour too.

After Fuji was rebuilt a couple...

Big Bear Lake

I'm out here at Big Bear Lake and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful here. No cars for two days is great too. Troy has a time share deal out here right on the lake. It is awesome and the air is clean as can be. You definitely have to visit if you're in LA during the fall season. I rocked the Armada up here and averaged 12.9 mpg. The roads are tight and twisty so it would be fun if I c...
