In this segment, I will detour you from our regularly scheduled program to bring you a little adventure known as the 24 Hours of LeMons from the perspective of Project Racer. You may already have heard of LeMons through various articles written by fellow MotoIQ writers Dave Coleman and Jeff Naeyaert, but in case you live under a rock, here is a brief description. We all know the distinguished 24 Hours of LeMans series where prestigious and ingeniously engineered race cars, with modifications backed by million dollar research and development are primped and honed to the pinnacle of automotive performance. Now, take that image, and go to the complete opposite end of that spectrum. That is where you will find the 24 Hours of LeMons. In LeMons, You are bound by a $500 limit on the value of the car, not including safety equipment, of course. Take that, along with 100+ other jalopies on race tracks ranging from one to three miles, and voila! Action packed non-stop racing mayhem with a track full of cleverly engineered piles of crap.

If that weren't interesting enough, LeMons racers took it to another level. "Hell!" we say; "We have these piles of crap, why don't we make them interesting piles of crap?!"

Which brings us to the most recent event which took place, the LeMons Arse-Freeze-Apalooza 2009 at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California. Like the other 158 crazies that showed up to this event, having this race take place the weekend before Thanksgiving didn't stop us from trekking nine hours across the state to participate in this event.

Infeneon in March? Pussies! We're doing Phoenix in January, ChumpCar at Streets of Willow in January (the very next week!), AND Infenion in March. Come on, everybody's doing it!

Agreed, ChumpCar Streets of Willow Springs is the "have to go" event for all So-Cal car nuts. You guys gotta bring out the ole beater and run it.

The Gnomes will be representing at Streets. You though you would just waltz in there and club those "Chumps" like Galapagos island turtles? Guess again pal. There's more than one fast turd in this punchbowl we call L.A.. The Gnomes say come get some!

oooooh those are fightin' words. The Team 1UP Finance committee has determined that we are all a bunch of broke mofo's that won't be able to run Chump OR LeMons in January. But, we may be there to spectate and provide moral support since its free, well relatively free. GOOD LUCK GUYS! We'll see you there.

The Team 1UP Finance Committee made a good call, why have to listen to TWO teams on here whine about how cold it was in Phoenix? Boo hoo, down to 29 deg at night.

Congrats to Eyesore on the W's, nice job. So, what do you do with all those nickels?
