The AMS EVO 8 drag car is FAST. I believe its the world's fastest drag EVO so congratulations to the AMS crew are in order.

AMS EVO Goes 8.42 @168.7 MPH - NEW WORLD RECORD!

However, it's not the fastest 4G63 powered drag car. John Shepherd currently holds that title at 7.70@191mph in his Eagle Talon. John Shepherd is the Mitsu tranny master BTW and builds the transmission in the AMS EVO 8. Both of these cars are FAF (fast as fuck).

AMS EVO: 8.42 @ 168.7

Mine's R35 GT-R VS Spoon NSX-R GT

Here's some new video from GT Channel on some Japanese muscle cars. I'm over the 4 banger shit for now. Nothing against most 4 banger owners, but is it any coincidence that forums of 4 cylinders cars are where all of the little bitches, SPEs, FFFs, and VFBs all hang out? Perhaps that is why none of my personal cars have any less than 6 cylinders: because I'm not a little bitch, SPE, FFF, or VFB. Na, that's not quite fair, but those assholes are ruining it for the rest of you cool 4 cylinder owners. Actually [Read the rest of this article...]

EVO X Finishes 24 Hours at Silverstone

Congratulations to Ecutek, ADR Motorsports, Ralliart UK, and all others involved for finishing the 24 hour Britcar race at Silverstone with a completely stock engine. This was the car's first time out and it set the fastest lap time within the beginning 30 minutes of the race and during the last 30 minutes of the race. Here's an email from David at Ecutek:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ecutek are pleased to be able to announce it's involvement in the Official Mitsubishi UK race programme.

Mitsubishi UK decided that the best place to publicise the strength and power of the EVO X is in endurance racing.

Lancer Ralliart Edition

While finishing my Lexus the other day over at XS, Rob from D-Sport mag was over there finishing up his dyno testing on a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. If you remember this is the Lancer model that Stephen sent me some shots of while a photographer was doing some catalog/ad shots for Mitsubishi back in April 2008. I guess it is finally released.

The Lancer Ralliart is going heads up against Subaru's WRX. It shares the exact same engine as the EVO X and even the dual clutch transmission from the EVO X MR. However, it lacks the good s...

Big Bear Lake

I'm out here at Big Bear Lake and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful here. No cars for two days is great too. Troy has a time share deal out here right on the lake. It is awesome and the air is clean as can be. You definitely have to visit if you're in LA during the fall season. I rocked the Armada up here and averaged 12.9 mpg. The roads are tight and twisty so it would be fun if I c...

VQ Crazy

Recently all around me have been Nissan VQs. There's the Cosworth Castrol Top Shop engine that I have been coordinating and tuning at Cosworth, then over at XS they are building a Z33 for my buddy Andy who owns Ark Design, so as a I built that engine on my own time, then I have been writing reports at Cosworth on VQ35DE camshafts like a madman, then I have been working on the Cosworth VQ35 long stroke crankshaft, my daily driver Maxima has a VQ30, I've been driving my mom's G35 which has a VQ35, etc. VQs kick ass.

The Cosworth Top Shop engine made 4xxbhp (buy the magazines) normally aspirated which impressed me. Th...

Subaru to Race Both WTCC and WRC?

Motorsports improves the breed. Too bad it won't improve the way the 2008 Impreza hatchback looks (I dig the sedan actually), but at least Subaru is racing it. It looks like the WTCC and the WRC are heading toward the same set of rules so now teams can race in both events with minor changes. This is good news. Hopefully the other factories will follow suit. Racing as a whole (outside of redneck dirt modified and circle track stuff) needs growth.

Baller Trailers

Calling all ballers and baller companies: 2 ex-Champ Car telemetry and track support trailers for sale. Asking price $140,000 each or best offer. No reasonable offer refused. Perfect for mobile command centers, telemetry, mobile offices, nuclear test site office, and easy conversion into rock star party trailers. No Champ Car = no need for trailers. The sale of these trailers will yield additional funding for more tools, machinery, and equipment for me and the gang to play with. YEAH!!! If you think you could use one, give me a call at Cosworth. DO NOT call me to ask me what size injectors or which cams you should use in your GT-R please.

The Red Dragon - Part 2

Progress is slow on the Red Dragon since everybody is busy all the time. Lew is currently working on the suspension. In our search to create a perfect Impreza, I contacted the guys at Whiteline in Australia to see if they would be interested in working with us. Fortunately they were and Whiteline sent us the works. Every bushing, bar, ball joint, bracket, and piece they had for the 2008 STi showed up a week after our email and phone conversation. Thanks to Mike Kojima for setting this up for me; what a cool guy. Mike also set me up with some custom Whiteline sway bars for the [Read the rest of this article...]

Armada AEM BRUTE FORCE!!! Intake

About three weeks ago I walked up to my desk in the morning at Cosworth and there was this big ass red box sitting on my chair. I was thinking "who the hell sent me an Armada intake?" It didn't cross my mind at the time that I had just posted about using a K&N intake. So I put it aside and started my day. Later that day at lunch Tyler said, "Hey Greg is going to send you an intake. Would you run an AEM intake?" I said, "Yeah I'm down as long as its not an xxx." BTW, thanks for hooking up the BRUTE FORCE!!! intake, Greg. Sorry I haven't called to thank you, but it is non-stop super busy at work so I haven't had a...

Steve at M-Workz sent me some links the other day to some interesting stuff on the RJN Motorsports 350Z that raced at the 24 hours of Nurburgring. You can see some of the build details here at JPCN and more details here at Auto Zeitung. For more information on the IES VQ engines, you can check out the IES website. Chances are if you are reading this blog, you cannot afford anything from IES (nor can I) so please don't bother them unless you have a six digit engine program budget. Barrel throttles, carbon trumpets, and shower injectors are VERY expensive. Only race teams with race budgets should bother contacting IES.
