Fun at IDRC


A virus attack kept me from posting this past week. Mark was cool enough to fix the prob pretty quick although we seemed to have lost the original blog header for now.


Anyhow last weekend at the IDRC drag event at Fontana, I got a chance to drag race the XS Engineering time attack GT-R. I showed up Saturday and the starters wouldn't let me run because the car didn't have passenger and driver's side windows. Road racing = windows down and drag racing = windows up. I had to go back to XS, pick up the regulators and glass and install them at back at the track. The thing I don't get is that they will allow a 7.3 sec...

IDRC Saturday 11/22 & 11/23


The guys at D-Sport magazine are bringing back the IDRC for two days at Fontana. The event will be this Saturday 11/22 and Sunday 11/23. There will be a GTR Challenge where you can run your BNR32/BCNR33/BNR34/R35 against other GT-Rs. I will be bringing out the XS Engineering time attack car for shits and giggles. Super Lap Battle Finals 2008


The cars are getting faster every year which is pretty exciting. Almost all of the cars below are now faster than the Cyber EVO from a couple years ago. Here are the final results overall. The Time Attack was at Buttonwillow Raceway, configuration 13 clockwise, Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The air was nice and cool for the turbo engines and the sun was out to bring up the track temperatures. It was the perfect day for a time attack.

SEMA 2008 Summary


I'm glad that SEMA is over this year. While it is overall a pain in the ass, it's a necessary evil to develop new business and show off your new products. This year's SEMA was definitely slower with less foot traffic and booths had less "models". Was it due to the economy? Probably since travel and women are two very expensive things in general. At the Cosworth booth, there were still quality inquiries and plenty of international visitors. Anyhow, it was great to meet some new people and overall I had a good time. Catching up with friends in the industry you're too busy to talk to during work hours was cool too. It was cool to have surprisingly quite a few people hit me up with, "Hey ...

SEMA 2008 Day 1


I have spent the last month or so prepping the Red Dragon with Tyler, Keith, Lew, and the new Eric. Since Ark Design's engineer had a delay from Japan, they hit me up to help them prep their EVO X also. XS Engineering was getting the Ark 350z ready as well with the Top Secret Widebody, but due to some body shop mishaps and general crap that happens during full builds, the car wasn't able to make it. In a way, I was a bit relieved since I'm sure I probably would have had to help on the 350z as well.Ben at Bespoke (check out the R35s he got to play with!) totally set XS up and got them the Top Secret kit on schedule, but ...
