Project AP1 S2000: DIY Oil Filter Stopper
Most S2000 owners know about the oil filter problem on AP1 S2000's. At high RPMS, the engine vibration causes the filter to loosen up (our Project AP1.5 S2000 knows this well, as the F22 swap happened due to this happening on track with the original F20 engine). After a nice Sunday drive, before heading home I decided to check the oil. A gut feeling casued me to check if the filter was tight- which is a good thing that I checked because it was loose. After re-tightening the filter, I was back on my way home.
After making it home I checked again. Sure enough the filter vibrated loose again. That is when I made the decision to do my own DIY oil filter stopper. Now, I understand that J’s Racing and ASM (the baller JDM companies) make oil filter stoppers but, the ASM unit would not fit due to the oil cooler lines being in the way. For the J’s racing one, I didn’t see a point to spend 100 dollars on that when it is just safety wire and a hose clamp. This caused me to create a simple stopper myself in order to have my own mounting point for now until I figure out a more permanent solution.
I started by going to Home Depot and purchasing a normal hose clamp for two dollars. With some safety wire we had in the MotoIQ Garage, I proceeded to start my DIY.
The tools we will be using for today's DIY. A hose clamp from Home Hepot, Earl's mil-spec safety wire, and Howard's safety wire pliers.
I started by removing the stock air box for more room to work with. 
After cutting my wire, I started to wrap it around the lines and used the wire tool to twist it up.
