Motor Massive, Global Time Attack, 86 Fest: Everything You'll Want In One Place

by David Kim

Toss in a little Global Time Attack into the mixing bowl, add a little 86Fest into the mix, include a touch of Auto Club Speedway, then sprinkle in everything motorsport to make yourself a delicious treat of Motor Massive. Served on a beautiful, but very hot, Sunday afternoon is the collaborative affair between GTA and 86Fest to bring one massive automotive event to Southern California, and yes, I was probably a little hungry at the time of writing this, but this event really catered to literally all forms of automotive interests. Want a slice of high performance time attack racing, sure, it’s only a few steps this way.

GTA always brings in some of the fastest and most competitive drivers throughout North America, and is the best place to experience the surreal feelings of being so close to full blown race machines.
However, it’s also inspiring to witness everyday cars and drivers taking on the time attack challenge, and with the inclusion of 86Fest’s high performance racers throughout the event, there was no shortest of raw entertainment.
Number 17, Ford Fiesta making the magic happen on Turn 1 right after the long front straight!
STI versus Evo.
A simple and purpose built AE86.

Man, it's one thing to chop and overfender a crappy car, but to do that to a Ferrari? I think the purpose of a trackday car is not care if it's abused. I don't know if I could do that with a Ferrari.

Horses for courses.

^ i think that's the beauty of the car community. You can't please everyone but there will always be a group that appreciates another ones creation, and the ones that don't, well, we all love a little hype regardless if it's positive or negative.
If it's your car then do what you want to do as long as it makes you happy! I know it's cliche.. In all honesty though, if i had the means, i would probably pick-up something like a Ferrari F40 and do something really sacrilegious :p. That's just me of course.

agree with the chopping up a Ferrari with over fenders, disagree about the "track abuse" thing. Its a waste of a Ferrari to not take it to the track, especially one like the 458/488. Kinda like saving your supermodel girlfriend for the next guy... if you want something expensive to cruise around in on the street get a Rolls or a Bentley. and if you're the guy that buys a car to park in your garage and wait for it to appreciate, you have my most genuine f*ck you! stop driving up car prices for enthusiasts and go play with the stock markets.
