The StopTech Big Brake Kits for 1969-1989 Porsche 911 won the 2016 Best Performance Product Award from the Import Vehicle Community (IVC), the import product arm of the Auto Care Association. The award was presented by IVC Executive Leadership Council Member, Martin Gold, and Chairman, Ira Davis (center), during the opening day of the industry’s annual AAPEX Show in Las Vegas. The winning entry was Centric’s comprehensive new program of StopTech Big Brake Kits for the iconic 1969-1989 Porsche 911 model range.

This year’s award was accepted by Centric Parts President/CEO, Dan Lelchuk (right), and StopTech Engineer, Tyler Hauptman (left), who was responsible for overseeing the development of this program. The program covers the most common stock wheel sizes and model year variations of early 911 models, and supplements the comprehensive range of OE replacement parts offered by Centric Parts for these vehicles. Like most StopTech brake components, the new Porsche kits require little-to-no vehicle modifications and offer significantly improved braking performance, feel and modulation over stock systems, as well as reduced fade.

“We are honored to once again be recognized by the Import Vehicle Community,” stated Lelchuk. “Our entire team works diligently to develop and produce the best brake and chassis components in the aftermarket. And being honored like this by the industry keeps us motivated as we continue to grow our research and development programs to keep us ahead of the competition.”

“We are proud of Tyler and the entire StopTech engineering team, who have developed the best high performance calipers, rotors, pads, lines and fluid for our StopTech brand over the years,” stated Centric VP of Engineering, Research and Development, Steve Ruiz. “StopTech products have been on championship-winning cars, trucks and buggies in virtually every class of racing – and the StopTech product range for street cars continues to grow every year with innovative components like those in our new Porsche kits. It’s thanks to engineers like Tyler who understand the market and know what it takes to succeed.”
