Best of the Best: Corey Brosk’s 2010 Nissan GT-R

by Aaron Litchfield

We imagine owning a GT-R is a bit like dating a supermodel. It requires a lot of attention, and money to keep it happy. We had the opportunity to meet this lovely lady, and get to know the man who knows what it takes to keep this lady happy. Cory admitted that he loves the “best of the best,” No surprise then when he got bored with his 600 WHP Subaru, he ended up behind the wheel of a 2010 Nissan GT-R. His all-or-nothing approach to tuning has turned the stock car he bought, into the one-of-a-kind machine, you are currently drooling over.

The level of detail on this car is off the charts. Buschur intercooler piping and Brembo brakes powder coated Shocker Yellow give a nice contrast to the otherwise subdued styling.

This car is mean stock, from the factory in 2010 the GT-R was rated at a respectable 485 horsepower and 434 foot pounds of torque, and put down a 3.5 second 0-60 time. To most that is enough, not Corey. As soon as he took delivery he began carefully modifying the car with an almost surgical approach.

Practically brand new and already being torn down to build more power.

The 3.8L engine was immediately torn out and was given the best spa treatment money could buy. Manley Pistons and Manley Turbo Tuff Rods grace the bottom end and are good foreshadowing of things to come. A custom modified stock oil pump and a GT-R T1 oil pan keeps the high strung VR38DETT happy and lubed.

Cylinder head port work from Curt Brown Racing and GSC valves helps enhance air flow.

Tomei 264 cams with matching Tomei valve springs, and GSC valves sit snug in the Curt Brown Racing stage 1 ported heads. ARP 625 head studs secure the modified heads to the block with an HKS head gasket sandwiched between for a combination that is sure to endure whatever abuse is thrown at it.
