The weather was clear and sunny for the four days of  the Castrol Victoria Day Speedfest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Qualifying began on Thursday and continued throughout the weekend, with racing taking place on Saturday and Sunday. The range of cars was incredible as the events included Formula 1600 Super Series, Canadian Supercar Series, Canadian Touring Car Championship, Porsche GT3 Challenge, and the Pirelli World Challenge with seven classes running. This was also the first event of the year for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series – so there was a huge range of cars to capture the attention of race fans.

The F1600 Super Series had a lot of close racing. These cars travel the 2.459 mile track in 1 minute 30 seconds. Here #38 Jean-Philippe Jodoin is overtaking #27 Danby Crowder.

Coming through the off-camber turn two are #4 Mikhail Goikhberg, #23 Connor Wagland, and #38 Jean Philippe Jodoin.

#22 Michel Bonnet is in fourth position, leading fifth place #68 Caitlin Johnston.

Michael Adams #59 won both the F1600 Saturday and Sunday races and his best time was 1:30.422. Second place went to #11 Reid Arnold both days and third was#22 Michel Bonnet on Saturday and #38 Jean-Philippe Jodoin on Sunday. In B Division #23 Connor Wagland, #95 Amy Castell, and #25 Mike Lee in Race 1 while the next day is was Connor followed by #41 Steve Bodrug and then Amy Castell.

At the other end of the racing spectrum was Johnny O'Connell in the Cadillac ATS-V.R., who took back to back wins in the Pirelli World Challege GT races. His times were 15 seconds a lap faster than the F1600 cars. More on the Pirelli WC in a few pages.
